No better way to spend a Tuesday than with some of Jen’s DS9 reactions. They’re always fun to watch 🔥🖖

This two-parter, for me, is the beginning of the golden era of DS9. It really kicks in with series four (no spoilers), but this is the genesis (no pun intended).

One of the best of season 3

Henchman Twenty1

When Garak shuts off that quantum stasis device, allowing Odo to finally revert to his natural state, he sits down and buries his face in his hands. My read of that was that it was part due to the shame in what he did, but also the realization that there was no going back to his old life as he was no longer the same person he once was. He has changed as a person. Don't get me wrong, he's still fully capable of doing unscrupulous things if they serve his goals, but deriving pleasure and pride from torture is no longer a part of who he is now.... unless it's Dukat!

Today was also my mother's birthday. She passed away in 1995...just seems like yesterday really.

My condolences time does fly but they are forever in our hearts and thoughts

In the beginning, I was never much of a DS9 fan. I watched episodes here and there from the first two seasons but I was always more of a fan of TNG and so this show pretty much fell off of my radar by the mid-90's. Catching a repeat screening on Sky 1 here in the UK, this two parter was the first thing that I had seen of DS9 in a long while... Let's just say that I was hooked from the start and DS9 quickly became MY Trek show. I have never looked back since.
