Movie Runtime: 2:01:35

Ohhhh my goodness 😆

Ok well this movie is certainly something! Winner of the Poll, I wasn't sure how different it would be form the Michael Keaton Batman's but it definitely had it's own thing going. I know there are differing opinions on this one but for me I thought it was really fun! Jim Carrey HAMMED it up and the music was wacky and fun! I would actually really like to check out Batman and Robin even though I know it's pretty universally panned. But Arnie in a Batman movie?! I feel like that's something I need to see 😆😆

Dylan

This was the Batman movie that I grew up watching. Thank you Jen for reacting to one of my favourite childhood movies 🔥🦇

Dylan

Jim Carrey as The Riddler was perfect. He steals the whole movie.

Ian

Holy gasping thumbnails batman this movie is a tree full of bananas and I'm so glad you enjoyed it Jen , shall watch this tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it 🔥 yes to watching batman and robin as you say you can't go wrong with Arnie 🙂 and I know you're have a smashing time with it

Curran Dobbs

It's definitely more campy. I enjoy campy but it's not everyone's thing. That said, several cast members from the original Batman, including the Riddler, (also Batgirl from season 3 and the original Catwoman from the TV show but not the movie) also guest starred on the OG Star Trek.

Ian

Always forget just how much fun the music is in these movies so it's always great that you point such things out and once you do ones ears are open to it all , brilliant stuff Jen 🎵🎶

Darryl Low

Awesome sauce Jen. You're killing it this evening with all your uploads. Thank you 😊 Going to fire up the Batmobile now. Val Kilmer did a great job as Bruce Wayne / The Bat. The rest of the cast just go wild and have a blast in their roles. Elliot Goldenthal provides the suitably gothic and wacky soundtrack. It's a really cool score 🦇

Dylan

RIP Val Kilmer. The most underrated Batman that ever lived.

Jen Murray

No... It's hard for me to recognize actors that wear a lot of prosthetics on Trek

Paul Peavler

As someone that works for a company that has a “profit sharing” scheme, I can assure that it does not motivate most workers. Especially when your company posts record profits and then somehow calculates a 0.9 profit-sharing payout factor so you only get 90% of the profit-sharing that’s used to offer you a less competitive base salary upfront. Ask me how I know lol. Corporations!

Jen Murray

Oh bummer! One of those sounds-good-in-theory things

Paul Peavler

I think one of the reasons this movie wasn’t received well when it came out is because it was obviously more campy and comic book-y than the previous movies and in the 90s superheroes were still seen as kid stuff, so critics really wanted more grounded and serious takes on them in movies to “legitimize” them. And this movie wasn’t that. But in a post-MCU world, I think people are a lot more receptive of campier and less serious takes on superheroes, or even outright want them, so this movie gets more generosity now than it did when it came out. Another good example is the costumes in the 2000 X-Men movie, they were deliberately made not colorful and different than the comic books to seem more realistic and serious; they even make a joke about “yellow spandex.” But now you have Hugh Jackman in the bright yellow spandex suit in Deadpool and Wolverine. Also, let’s be real, it’s getting a nostalgia bump from people like me that watched this as a kid and liked it as a kid and now we’re adults. I’m not sure if the Boomers are suddenly a fan of this movie or the sequel lol.

Curran Dobbs

The Gotham Statue of Liberty shows up in the Arkham Knight video game. I don't remember if it shows up in Arkham City or Arkham Origins.

Curran Dobbs

Also, Batpants would be a good name for a band...

Jeremy Nuss

Batman Forever is fun. It was a definite homage to 60s Batman while attempting to update it for 90s audiences. They did a pretty good job. Batman & Robin is the worst. I'll watch it but I don't have to like it lol

Harvey Lee

This was a dive back into campiness Jim Carrey 's performance as Riddler almost made this the Jim Carrey show !! And we get to see my name sake Harvey Dent (Two face ) appear . Regardless of the reviews I'll give it another go with your reaction Jen !!

Curran Dobbs

Ninja Laundry would also be a good name for a band...

Cody Cameron

Please Please Jen do watch Batman & Robin. Yes it's can be bad to me it was fun much like this one is

Curran Dobbs

Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones engaged in some serious ham-to-ham combat.

SetsunaYuki

Odo's actor as the Arkham doc at the end!

Mr. Writhms

Jen, Batman and Robin-- it's over the top and the most hated Batman movie. So... LET'S DO IT! 😁 I'm down!

Paul Peavler

Tommy Lee Jones apparently hated working with Jim Carrey on this movie. He told Jim once that he “couldn’t sanction his buffoonery.”

Paul Peavler

I personally really like Jim Carrey as the Riddler in this movie, mainly because of his interactions with Val Kilmer. I love all the subtle details of Carrey’s obsession with Bruce Wayne, like how he’s wearing the same glasses as Bruce when they first met and how he’s wearing the same tux and haircut at the party and even drew on a mole to emulate Val Kilmer’s. It’s just the perfect encapsulation of the “do I want to sleep with him or do I want to be him?” And the answer is yes.

Adam R

I always liked Val Kilmer as Batman. 🙂👍🦇

The Irish Buddhist

As long as you had fun Jen, that's all that matters. I will always be a Keaton as Batman and Wayne fan, but the others are entertaining.

Noremac

If you do want to watch a Batman TV series, I'd recommend Batman the animated series from 1992. It's almost unanimously considered the best Batman representation.

Desmond

You should do Batman and Robin just to be complete. Yeah, it's terrible, but also...memorable? I guess? Arnie is actually one of the best things about it.

Look out, Arbogast!

This is such a fun movie. I'm a bit gutted that we'll never get this kind of Batman treatment on the big screen, at least in live action form. They're good, but the ultra grim, realistic Batman is kinda wearing on me. The 90s animated series was probably the best to showcase how versatile this character is.

JPDotCom23

Once you see you, you'll understand why Val Kilmer didn't return. I'll watch it again, regardless, It's part of my 4k collection, I have to make use of it.

Look out, Arbogast!

You just blew my mind. I just figured it was an elderly female doctor for 30+ years -_- Now I learn that was Odo?!?!

Zapp Rowsdower

This was better than I remembered it being all those years ago. I was 16 when it came out and didn't really want another cartoony take on Batman after the 2 Tim Burton ones. Fast forward to 2026 and I've been long tired of the bleak Nolan-esque takes on Batman. Sidenote: "Kiss from a Rose" holds a special place in Hell for me. It was playing when I got dumped in the middle of a school dance. First heartbreak and all. That's why that song and "That's What Friends Are For" put a foul taste in my mouth.

Adam R

Yes to Batman & Robin for sh1ts and giggles! 😆🙃🤪

Jofus

Song at the end was "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" by U2; Weird Al's parody of it is "Cavity Search". Also recognized the tune because of Weird Al's version.

Matt

Definitely

Rick Rodriguez

Val Kilmer is my personal favorite Batman.

Lee R.

Yes, I was going to say the same thing. It definitely pays tribute to the fun of the 60s Batman. It's my fave of the 90s movies and really liked the Robin introduction. Just wish they didn't ham Two-Face up so much. I think he giggled more than the Joker lol

Trigger

The thing about the Batman TV series is it was delivered in small doses, I can enjoy Schumacher's Batmans for about 30 minutes before it becomes intolerable

Death Lego

"Chicks!" I'm dying.... 🤣

Jen Murray

With a toothache This is it, pal Root canaaaaal Has been in my head since I watched 😆😆

Clay F

Schumacher Batman Forever = IMDb 5.5, RT 41%, RT Audience 33% (250,000+ ratings) Batman & Robin = IMDb 3.8, RT 11%, RT Audience 16% (250,000+ ratings) For the love of god and all things holy, skip Batman & Robin (1997). Batman & Robin (1997) is often included in worst movie polls.

Jesse Hamm

"Batman and Robin" is so bad, it can cause brain damage. Be careful.

Jacob Colson

Are other movies available in "No Copy Needed"?

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

Also, we need more movies starring Debi Mazar 😍 (Space Truckers comes to mind, or Beethoven's 2nd) 😁

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

It wasn't until I listened to the Joel Schumacher commentary that I found out it was him (back in 2005, you just couldn't Google something that easily 😂). I remember seeing his name in the opening credits but that was it (same thing with Don 'The Dragon' Wilson as the neon gang leader) 😄

Jen Murray

I'm just testing it out right now to see if it's feasible for me. Will let everyone know if I decide to offer everything this way

Andrew Hafey

I thought I was the only one that thought it was good cheesy fun!!!

Thomas Malley

I prefer the cut down versions my self, but this is a neat feature. audio is a little out of sync though but no biggie.

Jen Murray

Can u be more specific? My audio is out of sync? The movie?

Adam R

I really think the Tim Burton ones had the right balance, as far as the live action movies.

Michael Jung

Did you notice that Dr. Burton -- the psychologist in Arkham Asylum at the end -- is also Odo from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine???

Michael Jung

I saw Jon Faverau (Happy Hogan from Iron Man and Foggy Nelson from Fox's Daredevil!) in the credits!

Marcus Hicks

I consider this to be the last of the decent OG Batman movies.....inferior to the prior two, but still vastly superior to Batman and Robin.

Adam Doyle

While the other Batman movies are obviously on your list, I can't recommend enough, LEGO Batman (2017) , as well as the amazing Gotham t.v. series (5 seasons) following a young Jim Gordon and the origins of the Batman universe.
