Finally, Wall Street shows up on a poll. Pretty surprised it’s not a more common reaction on YouTube.

Jen Murray

Hope you voted for all of them! Whatever gets over 200 votes I will watch

Thessair

Fingers crossed for Real Genius making the cut. I absolutely *love* that film.

Geoff S.

Wow so many good ones but as much as Jen loves music I have to go with Amadeus. I actually worked at the resort when the cast of Three Amigos stayed in Tucson to film for a month. It was my first job.

Miles E Coburn

Only two of that group I'd be interested in, "Road House" and "Passion of the Christ'. But as I was correct to point out (way back when) that you would have a problem reacting to "The Exorcist", so you would have a problem with "Passion of the Christ". So I didn't vote for that one.

RJ MacReady

Real Genius and Platoon!!

Fanchman

Passion of the Christ would be worth watching for the first time, but I can't watch it again.

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

I love The Passion of the Christ, but it's a tough watch. I voted for all of them anyway 😁

Helly R

Whenever Das Boot gets watched, def go Director's Cut.

Jen Murray

I'm aware what the movie is. I don't put movies on polls that I don't think I can handle

John Sullivan

I'm sorry but the passion is not worth your time

ChrisJayR

I think you would love Roadhouse.

Oliver Willkomm

You definitely have to watch the directors cut of „Das Boot“

Clay F

Glad to see Amadeus (1984) doing well early on. Also pulling for Platoon.

Kristin

Pulling for Three Amigos! Silly fun, and we all need that in life. Passion of the Christ is a beautiful film, If you watch it, I will watch your reaction. Maybe even watch the full length, maybe. It's an important film. However, It's a very intimate and personal experience too, so I almost want to suggest that you watch it in private and not as a reaction. So if it does not win (which is probably won't), I suggest you watch it privately anyway. I'm looking forward to the sequel that is being made about the Resurrection.

Marco Borromeo

Well, tough choice here.. To me, Das Boot is one of the undisputed, most accurate and visceral war films ever made. It was the career starting point for some of the most well known and busy German actors back then, in part also internationally and Dir. Wolfgang Petersen as well. It's only a shame - the only problem I have with reactors in general - that you might not watch it on the big screen where it really belongs. It's a different film after all then. But well.. One possible German persepective on one aspect of WWII.. Extremely well done. Wall Street. A another modern classic, done by Oliver Stone, which gives it the seriousness and no-nonsense atmosphere like nearly all of his works have. Timeless. It would be a very nice 'double feature' to watch Wall Street and Platoon back to back. Both present a critical, highly sceptical, brutal, intense and multilayered view on America's society, economics, politics and warfare. Both timeless as well in my opinion. Little hint: If you ever watch Hot Shots Part Deux, it makes much sense to see Wall Street first. Because of one of the best cameos in it (in HS II) ever.. 😉

Jen Murray

You don't have to choose! You can vote for them all. Anything that gets over 200 votes will be watched 👍

davherex

All in for Amadeus. One of my favorite movies of all time. Definitely a 10/10!!

Brett Richey

Is 'None of the above' a Brewster's Millions reference?

Noremac

I hope Amadeus wins; it's one of my favorite movies and I think Jen would enjoy it.

Brett Richey

Hello Clay 👋 Don't tell Cassie I started watching someone else's reactions. I feel like I'm cheating (joke obviously), but I just started watching Jen's on Patreon a couple of week ago, and she's just as genuine (and really sweet and lovely and smart) - must be a Canadian thing. I also voted for Amadeus btw.

Summer

Amadeus and both Producer picks

Helly R

Def Theatrical cut too. The Director's cut is awful.

Major Peril

Hmmm, 200 votes, eh? Seems the gauntlet has been thrown!

Lemurian Jones

Second on the theatrical. It's one of the few occasions where the director's cut ruins the movie.

Ken Schneyer

You personally, Jen, will go bonkers over Amadeus.

Bryan Tuck

Agreed - theatrical cut is the way to go. The so-called "director's cut" isn't even the director's preferred version (long story).

Bryan Tuck

If you do AMADEUS, make sure to watch the original theatrical cut, which is finally available again after being out of circulation for a number of years. The so-called "director's cut" wasn't much more than a marketing gimmick (it's not even the director's actual preferred version), but it somehow became the default version for a while. It's about 20 extra minutes of footage that was wisely removed originally, awkwardly shoehorned back in. It's still a good movie, but the theatrical cut is a great one, and it flows much better.

Justin Bartlett

If I could vote for amadeus more I would.... but then id be chastised for "too many votes".

Clay F

Good to see you Brett. I agree about Jen. The 3 reactors I have been subscribed to the longest (almost 3 years) happened to be 3 female Canadians: Hold Down A, PiB, Jen.

Joe Blankenship

Come on, Real Genius! I've been meaning to revisit that one since he passed.

Clay F

Vote Platoon (if you would watch the reaction) even if not your top choice b/c this poll is not a competitive poll. The choices in the poll are not competing against one another. Instead, she will react to every movie in the poll that reaches 200 votes. Platoon (1986) [Oliver Stone] [AFI Top 100] --Won Oscar for Best Picture. --Nominated for 8 Oscars. --Charlie Sheen (great narration like his dad) --Willem Dafoe --Tom Berenger --Forest Whitaker

Jason Scade

Great selection. 💜 Awesome to see The Passion there. ❤️ 🙏

Julian San

Let’s watch Amadeus already!!!

Kragnar

Smile little buttercup...

Quantum Cat

>BEWARE! POSSIBLE PARTIAL SPOILERS.< I actually found SOME (not all) of the re-added material edifying for some of the things that happened that seemed awkward in the shorter version. Admittedly, the re-added scene with Salieri and Constanze was a bit over the top, but it MUCH better illustrates why Stanze reacts so negatively when she finds Salieri with Wolfgang near the end.

Quantum Cat

Then you might also have to ask which of your votes should be cut.

Quantum Cat

First time watching it, I had a soda spit-take when I heard "Do joo know what is foreplay? No? Good. Neither does El Guapo."

Toc

For THIS channel? Not even close: Amadeus all the way. But watch the THEATRICAL cut, do not watch the tedious Director's Cut which, among other offenses, totally kills the pacing. It's a movie that is architecturally perfect at 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Toc

Now that's a Director's Cut I can endorse! 😆 Amadeus Director's Cut? No way! Das Boot Director's Cut? Totally!

Geoff S.

Also with a movie like this it's very hard to stop watching in the middle of the credits because of the music that is playing. I say play till the end.

Geoff S.

After Amadeus I hope Jen dips her toe into the jazz world with Bird. Directed by Clint Eastwood.

Bryan Tuck

It does give a little more motivation, but I think there's enough in the theatrical cut for it to make sense. And I feel like that added scene throws the progression of Salieri's character arc off a bit. But I don't want to say more, since Jen hasn't seen it yet. :)

Alexis Vorian

Amadeus is one of those 10/10 movies. It's simply perfect.

Byrd N. Hand

What's this? My top pick is actually winning?? 😮

zynjams

Passion of the Christ is an amazing movie, however, not a reaction movie, a great movie for yourself at home, it's very brutal, shows the scourging and crucifixion of Christ

Byrd N. Hand

Personally, I like the director's cut of "Amadeus" and feel it takes nothing away from the pacing -- and also reinstates a scene critical to Salieri's character development. And it's only 20 minutes longer. Not sure when filmmaking apparently became all about simply making the shortest movie possible. Is it really *that* difficult now for people to focus on something for that much time? 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

Granted, the director's cut is even more faithful to the original play. And I'll never understand the mindset of people who love a movie but then consider any other modified version of said movie to suddenly be awful. Religious fundamentalism much? 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

Well, she's said she's reluctant to watch any movie that exceeds 3 hours right now, in light of her little one. so it might be better if it doesn't win at this current time...

Byrd N. Hand

It'll get tons of views on YT, though; Popcorn in Bed's has gotten nearly 850K views in less than a year.

Toc

No, it's not about making something short, it's about making something PERFECT. Like a Mozart piece. Three hours? Very un-Mozart. Regarding Salieri's development.........I don't want to talk spoilers! Why is this so difficult? What you're talking about is absolute drivel, but I can't address it! So I'd appreciate it if you don't leave spoilers! This is not the time or place! I'm sorry you can't tell the difference between something that is architectually perfect and something that isn't! I'm sorry you know nothing about Mozart... and specifically his style and what makes his work great! I'm sorry most people will tell reactors to watch the THEATRICAL cut......which is the movie that got the awards, that schools took their students to see, and which is iconic and beloved. NOT the bloated, overlong, completely redundant, horribly paced, story-mutilating Director's Cut that completely changes the movie (for the worse). I don't need this explained to me. I'm sorry you can't tell the difference between pacing and movie length. I'm sorry you need everything explained to you, and that you're allergic to nuance and ambiguity and three-dimensionalism, and that you prefer Salieri as a LESS-complex character! The scene you think is so great? It sucks! It's ridiculous! The character is completely changed in the Director's Cut....for the worse! But hey....let's not talk about it now. We'll talk about it after she watches it. Whichever version.

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

Now that Amadeus made it to 200, how about voting for more movies to get them to 200? 😆

Kristin

Three Amigos!! I voted for Amadeus, Amigo, Genius and Passion. I love that we can vote for many .

Patrick Turman

Jen, when you watch Amadeus, be sure & watch the theatrical version & not the Director's Cut, if at all possible. The Director's Cut is okay but basically it adds about 30 minutes of deleted scenes that were not in the original version.

Byrd N. Hand

Well, I'd say your beef is really more with Peter Shaffer than myself. I'll never understand people who love something but then suddenly hate any other version of it. It's akin to religious fundamentalism, if you ask me. I'd be curious as what you think of the extended cuts of the LOTR movies (under which I'd also put this film's director's cut). Maybe you might want to get yourself checked for ADD? 🤷‍♂️

Bryan Tuck

I'd actually love to see someone react to The Last Temptation of Christ. There would certainly be some stuff to discuss there. :)

Bryan Tuck

I don't think the DC is "awful," but it is a weaker film overall IMO.

Jen Murray

Alright we're watching AMADEUS for sure! Still time to vote for more-- I'm watching ALL movies that get over 200 votes!

Kragnar

Didn't Falco do the soundtrack?

Rob Nichols

Glad to see Amadeus made it. But c'mon folks Real Genius is also a perfect Jen movie, let's get it to 200.

Byrd N. Hand

... which is basically what the extended cuts of "Gladiator" and "The Martian" also do -- as well as the LOTR and "Hobbit" movies. If you really love it, yes, you'll probably want more... but if you merely appreciate it, the original theatrical cut will likely suffice for you.

Toc

Wrong again! I saw the play on Broadway...BEFORE the movie came out! (the play was superior to the movie, incidentally). Anything else, Byrd-who-hilariously-needs-everything-explained-to-him-in-movies? Good luck in the shallow end of the pool, Byrd. LOTR movies? I'm a grown up, Byrd, I don't wallow in mediocrity like you. We're talking Amadeus and your only other frame of reference is hobbits and fairy tales? Are you kidding me? I couldn't be more embarrassed for you if I tried right now. How old are you? I mean if you saw those movies as a little boy, that's one thing. (It would definitely explain why you're so taken with the dopey Director's Cut of Amadeus). But if you're anywhere near my age and this is your frame of reference, all I can say is grow up. Get some taste. Start in the silent era and work your way forward (and don't forget your foreign films, kid, including Milos Forman's early Czech films, they're his greatest works). The hilarious thing is the only scene you people ever bring up to defend the Amadeus Director's Cut is the worst one! Absolutely lame! I'm starting to think it's just that you guys want to see female reactors react to bare breasts on screen. That's got to be it. PS: In conclusion: the Director's Cut completely throws off the balance and nuance of the main characters.....it drains the movie of what was great about it in the first place. Which goes sailing over your head because you are a simpleton who needs clear "good guy/bad guy" bullshit. That's why the Director's Cut sucks. It REDUCES the movie into something way more run of the mill. It REDUCES a complex character into something one-dimensional. I'm sorry that you are so steeped in mediocrity that you need to have your hand held, like a little boy, in every movie. Back in the day, we preferred nuance and three-dimensionalism. Not babycrap good guy/bad guy drivel. 🤷‍♂️

Jason Scade

@Zyn I agree with everything, except the not a reaction movie part.

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

Now that ¡Three Amigos! made it, how about Real Genius, Road House and Platoon?? 😆 Obviously we should have enough people to make it happen 😄

Dipper

The Passion of the Christ is an amazing movie, but not one that lends itself well to reactions.

Patrick Turman

And it's also what they did with GOOD, BAD & THE UGLY. It's basically just a marketing ploy to get you to rent or buy the movie a 2nd time: "Here's the movie you love---with some BONUS material included!" Which actually makes the movie worse. Because those scenes were deleted for a reason.

Jen Murray

Other channels reactions to it have very high views 🤷

Jen Murray

Ok Amadeus and ¡Three Amigos! are both over 200 votes so both will be watched! Keep voting if you want to see more watched!

Jason Scade

I disagree OP. Peace & love. ♥

Dipper

I was just going to leave it alone, but for some reason Jason compels me to put it another way. There's something inherently wrong in a reaction to essentially watching someone's best friend be tortured and brutalized for 90 minutes. Either you wince and squeal a lot, which is redundant, or you react neutrally, which can seem disrespectful. (I'm sure there's a minority out there that might even react positively or egg the Romans on, which may be why I refuse to go look and see what even a single reaction to the movie looks like.) And I mean that - we're not talking about a random character in a horror movie, we're talking about the best friend of a significant portion of the human race. Just imagine someone reacting to a movie about your friend being tortured and killed. It does not lend itself well to reactions.

Kristin

I watched Three Amigos with my dad many many times, one of his favorite movies, and mine!

Thotfinder General

Stupid comedy Three Amigos over Wall Street AND Platoon!!!!????? 🤦‍♂️ There's 'different tastes' then there's going into a 3 Michelin Starred restaurant and choosing to eat dog food on the floor instead of the gourmet meal on the table—this is madness!!

Bryan Tuck

With the THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY it's a little more complicated. The current 3-hour cut that's become the "standard" version out there is based on the original longer Italian version. BUT... they didn't quite get it right. There are some differences. That said, Leone did supervise the editing of the shorter international version, so that's also a valid release, and what most of the world knew for many years (and I happen to prefer it myself). At any rate, each movie with multiple released versions has its own idiosyncrasies. :)

Thotfinder General

Wall Street & Margin Call—2 New York financial dramas that have to be seen

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

Kinda sad Real Genius, Road House and Platoon didn't make it. Hopefully next time ,🤓

Summer

That is well said Dipper, seeing Jen see it will be great but then other factors come in
