Man this a GREAT poll!! There are only two movies I didn’t vote for.

Mr. Writhms

Don't sleep on Silver Streak. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor's first movie together. A hilarious must-see. 😁

To Wa

Yea! I LOVE these 200 polls!

Matt

Taxi Driver gotta be one of my top 5 all time, absolute classic!

Joe Blankenship

I've not seen All the President's Men yet, so I'm going for that one. Yall really like Silver Streak though? I'm more of a Stir Crazy guy for Pryor and Wilder.

Clay F

Glad to see my top two - All the Presidents Men (1976) and Taxi Driver (1976) - jumping off to a fast start.

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

Too bad Midnight Cowboy missed the 70s poll by ONE year, it would've been a great addition and make the Hoffman trifecta 😄

Jason Scade

Superb 70s selection. Marathon Man and The Man Who Would Be King are legendary and with good cause.

Jason Scade

The French Connection is essential 70s. Talk about nerve-racking!

thansen

Rollerball, Condor, All the President's Men and the funnest movie Silver Streak would be great. I know Taxi Driver will win. Not a Scorcese fan. Haven't seen Marathon Man so that would be a good one, too.

Lee

In a rare turn, I've seen all of these films except one (Taxi Driver), and that's the one that will win.

Henchman Twenty1

This is the 50th anniversary of All the President's Men. A very important movie and one of my all time favorites!

zynjams

Taxi Driver is a legendary movie, DeNiro at his best,

Dufflepod

The most impressive menu yet!

Alexis Vorian

Oh Man! I just watched Taxi Driver! My vote goes for Marathon Man which i remember as a great movie.

Toc

FANTASTIC poll! She's going to watch ALL that get over 200?! I voted for almost every one of 'em! How do you pick? Rollerball??!! Man Who Would Be King?!!!! All The President's Men? Taxi Driver? Marathon Man? I hope everyone is checking off boxes galore, not sticking with just one pick.

Toc

You don't have to pick just one! She'll do all that get over 200 votes!

Toc

She's going to do any title that gets over 200 votes, it's not just one winner. Vote for all of 'em! I'm dying to see her react to The Man Who Would Be King, or Rollerball, or All The President's Men, et al. I hope you checked off all those boxes! :D

Toc

It doesn't have to be one winner; she's going to do anything that gets over 200! Vote away, bro! I agree, Rollerball would be great! Marathon Man would be great! All The President's Men.....great! Silver Streak....great! I hope you voted for all of 'em!

Toc

Two great movies, totally.

Toc

High five, Clay! :D

Jason Scade

Mine told me I *mustn't* speak to patients about it.

Byrd N. Hand

First poll in which I've voted for every single title. The '70s was peak American cinema.

Toc

Right on! (I totally agree!)

Tyrone Tyrone

All the President's Men is unwatchable considering how much we've changed, and not for the better.

Tyrone Tyrone

1. Three Days of the Condor (1975) 2. Rollerball (1975) 3. Silver Streak (1976)

Trish

You could view it as a good look at history with 2 of the best actors in 2nd half 20th century

Darryl Low

All late night tv classics Jen haha. I voted for them all 😊

Collinson

Love The Man Who Would Be King but that's some strong competition.

Jesse Hamm

"Silver Streak" is an excellent blend of comedy, thriller, and romance. It also highlights the impeccable comedic chemistry between Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. Oh, and champaign. Lots of champaign!

To Wa

Folks: both Rollerball and Condor are more than halfway to 200 votes. You know what to do.

Jen Murray

Yes and all 4 will be watched on upcoming schedules :)

Jeff McClellan

Three Days of the Condor and All The President's Men are both really outstanding films and two of my all-time favorites (and very interesting to see 50 years on given [ waves at everything ] ). Taxi Driver is a brilliant film, but a little difficult to watch in some spots -- a bit like The Joker for a rough comparison. The Man Who Would Be King stars Sean Connery and Michael Caine -- enough said. Murder On The Orient Expressd is like the OG Knives Out and has a pretty decent remake from 2017.

Clay F

I remember when Silver Streak was released - I was in 8th grade.

Clay F

Yeah, last place (beating none of the above). But technically, there is not any competition. She would react to all of the movies if they reached 200 votes.

Clay F

ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (AFI Top 100) is based on a true story. I've watched "All the President's Men" so many times. I love that movie. Back when I was in high school in late 70s and in college in the early 80s, I loved All the President's Men. The pair of Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman are great.

Clay F

TAXI DRIVER (AFI Top 100). I rewatched Taxi Driver last week. The acting by Robert De Niro is captivating. Best Actor Oscar nominees that year: -Robert De Niro – Taxi Driver -William Holden – Network -Peter Finch – Network (Winner) -Giancarlo Giannini – Seven Beauties -Sylvester Stallone – Rocky De Niro should have won (my opinion). Bill Holden (my 2nd choice) is awesome in Network. Of course, Stallone gave a good performance in Rocky (1976).

Eirik

This Murder on the Orient Express is the first movie adaptation of the most famous Poirot mystery. And the second highest rated. This is Albert Finney's only outing as the exccentric Belgian sleuth. And probably my second favourite portrayal. (David Suchet just can't be beat. He also researched and immersed himself to the point he knew the character better than any of the writers and directors who worked on the show.) But this movie is great, and the cast is amazing! If you haven't read or seen any version of Murder on the Orient Express, you really should see this. No spoilers!

Patrick

The Man Who Would Be King is one of my favourite lazy Sunday afternoon films.

Clay F

Hard to beat the combo of Sean Connery and Michael Caine.

Geoff S.

Death On the Nile is my favorite.

jon bolton

I'm really pleased to see Silver Streak there, i love that film. It was the first Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor film i saw.

jon bolton

One of my favourite film decades (along with 80s and 90s) i was born in 1980, so i guess it makes sense i'd love those 3 best.

DrJonasVenture

Taxi Driver hit 200. Looking forward to that one.

Sarah Jane

AS I've said before, I don't think Taxi Driver is as important to a Canadian as it is to an American.

Byrd N. Hand

And "All the President's Men" is just 10 away. I think that's gonna be it for this one, though.

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

As much as I like these 200 polls, I can't believe people went for Taxi Driver, MAYBE All the President's Men and that's it...

Clay F

The highly entertaining “All the President’s Men” nom for 8 Oscars (including Best Picture), winning 4 including Best Screenplay and Best Sound. Redford and Dustin Hoffman make an excellent duo. “All the President’s Men is a perfect film and the apex of [it’s subject matter]. 50 years later, it hasn’t lost one ounce of impact, and may be growing more impactful by the day.” “Well shot, beautifully written, and incredibly acted, All the President's Men offers the trifecta of excellence in filmmaking.” “All the President's Men speaks to the importance of having a free press … and remains one of the most important films in cinematic history.”

Clay F

Maybe so, but I would think Canadians would appreciate the acting by Robert De Niro.

DrJonasVenture

I’m really surprised that The Man Who Would Be King got so few votes. Sean Connery and Michael Caine directed by John Huston. How can you not love that?

Patrick Turman

You need to watch it before you watch the reaction. Watching a reactor react to it (as entertaining as that can be) is not the same as watching it yourself.

KBH27

Silver Streak is a personal favorite and must watch.
