This movie *definitely* needed more Falco.

Knew you would enjoy the music in this one Jen but like myself I bet you didn't think he would be as bonkers as he was 🙂

Interesting that you should mention that it would be bad for him to be hooking up with the 13 year old student, since it's implied that his (Tom Hulce's) character in "Animal House" hooks up with a 13 year old (presumably). Anyway, Tom Hulce created that laugh (which is not historical) based on that of a director that he worked with. And I think the main difference in the cuts is that more opera is included in the longer one.

One of my favorite movies despite a lot of it being untrue.

I can't unhear the Rock me Amadeus song by Falco Amadeus , Amadeus . Am. Ma deeus !!🎵🎵🎵 😆 What a Beautifully shot movie ,awesome soundtrack as I know you appreciate music Jen watching Mozart brought to giddy life is a great treat Thanks to Tom Hulce, I'd to think Mozart was something like this in real life . Keeping music alive .. I'll be catching this later this evening .🎵🎵🎧☝️

“Walk Hard” is (in my opinion) an underrated music centered comedy with John C. Riley. And you don’t really need to see “Walk the Line” to enjoy it.

Byrd N. Hand

Probably my favorite film of the '80s, for sure.

Contrary to what this film/play claims, Salieri was *not* a hack composer. And, alas, his poor estate has had to defend his legacy since the play first premiered 47 years ago. I'm still not sure why Peter Shaffer didn't choose to make him a completely fictitious character, largely forgotten by time. 🤔

The costumes and historical references were great

I absolutely adore this movie. My favorite line in it is when Mozart asks Salieri to forgive him. As the audience, we know that Salieri did everything he could to sabotage & destroy Mozart so it's Salieri who should be asking for Mozart's forgiveness. But when Mozart asks for Salieri's forgiveness, it's basically Mozart saying "Forgive me for being the one who was given this great talent that you wanted so much but were denied."

While it's true the history of this is not accurate, at least how Saliari was treated, this story is from an unreliable narrator point of view thus the history was always going to be a bit shady. Aside from that, this film doesn't really have any flaws.
