Ok WOW. I did NOT expect basically a full-on Avengers movie but I loved every minute! SO much good stuff in this one, new characters to love, GREAT action sequences, team-ups, moral dilemmas, reveals - this one had everything! I really really loved it! Did you guys love it as much as I did!? Very much looking forward to the next MCU, coming soon!

“He’s my friend.” “So was I.” Man… that stings. You can literally see the heartbreak and betrayal in Tony’s eyes. 😭💔

Watching now! It's time go! Full good!

2026-10-07 05:00 This movie has my all time favourite Stan Lee cameo. “Are you Tony Stank?” 🤣🤣

Ian

Awesome been looking forward to this one since the start this is going to be epic 🔥🔥🔥

Ian

Saw this in the cinema and it was truly epic the only thing missing was Jen's commentary , that's the icing on the cake that takes this movie to the next level 🔥🙌

Darryl Low

Looking forward to watching this one Jen. It's definitely more The Avengers 2.5 than a Capt. America movie. Cap is my fave MCU character so I was on his side all the way through 😅 And Black Widow, how could you!?!😭 A little of Tony goes a long way with me. I do find him really annoying sometimes, especially in this movie haha. Excited to see your reaction to it 😊

Over50Gamer

Ok, dropping everything and watching now... this is where things really escalate!

fromage

This phase of MCU movies just continues to deliver. Generational run. Glad you're enjoying it, Jen!

Joe Blankenship

Alright! Avengers 2.5!! This is a fun one.

Adam Doyle

How fitting for memorial day

Ian

I bet as soon as this dropped there was a staggering rise in views on patreon on Jen's channel 🙂🔥

Harvey Lee

Absolutely been looking forward to this 🤘 All the Avengers come out to play and do Battle 👊 I'll save this for this evening Have an epic day yourself Jen 😃🖤🤘

Oh yeah, love this one. One of my top favorites in the marvel franchise. Some people I know don’t like it at all which baffles me! Looking forward to this reaction. ✅

Yeah it really is too bad that the billionaries that we have only want to take everything from all of us, destroy the planet, and enrichen themselves, and themselves only, beyond any sort of human measure. We live in a great world don't we? And everybody just worships people like Musk, Bezos and Gates like they are Tony Stark. It's just despicable and makes me have negative hope for the future. I'm surprised our society still stands. Also yeah, I'm Team Cap all the way, not a question. Been that way since 2016.

Mr. Writhms

One of the best MCU movies! This movie actually inspired me to read the Civil War comic book, after not reading a comic book since I was a kid. Afterward I wished Disney would have owned Fox before they filmed this. The Civil War comic book was insane, also involving Fox characters like The Punisher, The X-Men and the Fantastic Four—not to mention forcing Peter and Tony to go head to head. But they did a pretty good job adapting it for the movie. Extra thanks for this one, Jen!

Franco V.

Don't worry Jen. No one knew about Bucky's involvement in Tony's parents death until this movie. I don't know when Steve found out.

Captain Jellico

Steve found out at the end of Winter Soldier. Black Widow hands Steve a file on Bucky and says, "You may not want to pull on that thread."

Dean

From all the MCU movies I've seen (not including GotG movies which are sort of their own thing), the writing team of Markus and McFeely seem to be reliably the best. They've done the first 3 Cap movies and two more movies coming up (no spoilers!). I can't point my finger on what they nail specifically, but it feels mostly like a balance of tone and the voices of the characters feels consistent with their own movies. I hope they bring them back for upcoming movies.

Dean

One thing I like from the perspectives of the Tony and Steve's arguments is they make a lot of sense based on what we've seen them go through in their respective movies. Steve saw that institutions like SHIELD can be secretly horrifically corrupt and Tony saw that technology like his getting into the hands of bad guys is incredibly destructive and he has worked closely with the military for a long time with his friend Rhodey. The funny thing is Steve's perspective has gotten MORE correct as time has gone on as we see governmental and international institutions sitting on their hands during genocides or actively doing horrific stuff when governments change hands.

Curran Dobbs

You might want to include Spiderman 3 (Tobey Maguire) too. In the previous Captain America, Cap was working for Shield and found out that he was really working for Hydra so he became very aware that putting responsibility for his super-heroism in the hands of authorities isn't necessarily for the best. Ironman who usually doesn't do well with authority had a number of movies (including Avengers: Age of Ultron) where his independent and rebellious nature caused problems.

Opti_Frog

This is exactly what i needed tonight.

Commenting after the watch: Your shadow would be that iconic ponytail. :) Few rock it like you do. By the way, I don't know about Fargo, but you've seen Martin Freeman (G-Man Everett Ross) as Arthur Dent in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy movie. Even though I love Iron Man/Tony Stark (and even my ex-gf called me her own Tony Stark probably because of my own love of tech tinkering), I'm on the good Captain's side on this one. If there's a monumental world threat, I don't think we could afford to wait on the decision-making of some bureaucrats. Besides, Cap has seen the best organization infiltrated from within, so he knows the power of individuality and that organizations have more of a tendency to have ulterior motives.

"We need more bandwidth to the server traffic! NOW!!"

Ian

Haha fact's 🙂

One thing I keep forgetting to mention: There’s a lot of talk about who has what powers, who has no powers, and who is most powerful. One element of that discussion is that it doesn’t matter when you run into people with equal power. Natasha and Clint have traits that’ll help you win in those situations even if they don’t have superpowers. Heck, Cap’s powers are even relatively limited. He can’t fly. He can be stabbed, shot, crushed. But what he brings to the fight goes well beyond his physical abilities. Plus having characters with no special powers helps us relate.

Mastervodo

Love this movie, and it's so cool to watch Jen so excited, especially during the fight scenes. Super Hero fight scenes are one of my favorite things, and this one has some of the best, ever. Wanda for sure is #1 most powerful avenger. Lots of rankings put Thor as #2, but I put Dr. Strange and even Wong higher than Thor, and Vision could take Thor as well. Of course, it all depends on the writing. You can make up any story where any hero can beat any other hero. But Vision is legit pretty powerful.

Sykonee

It's pretty much a Cap movie with an Avengers side-story tagged on. If you'd removed the whole Accords plot-thread, you'd still have a solid espionage outing picking up on the Winter Soldier Arc - you could even keep Black Panther as an antagonist. I'm sure the Civil War story was in the back pocket at some point, but after the relatively lukewarm response to Age Of Ultron, I kinda' suspect they felt the need to do another Major Event movie to retain interest in the MCU. And hoo, adding Spidey into the mix definitely got the people buzzing.

JPDotCom23

You should watch one of Tobey Maguire's, then Andrew Garfield's, then Tom Holland, keep doing that until you catch up. But stagger them in between the other MCU movies so you don't fall too behind.

Chris Biebel

I think technically, he knew about the Starks being killed by Hydra and not dying by an accident, but not necessarily at the hand of the Winter Soldier. That was from his discussion with computer Zola who mentioned how "accidents happen" while showing a headline about Howard Stark and wife dying in an accident.

Chris Biebel

BTW, two Easter Eggs in this are two scenes that come straight from covers of the comics: 1. Ant-man holding onto Hawkeye's arrow about to be shot is from one comic that comes with the line "When Ant-man and Hawkeye join forces...Somebody's going to get it! 2. That shot of Ironman shooting the blast at Captain America's shield that you really liked was the cover for original "Civil War" comic.

zynjams

I always hated that woman from the state department, she should know sometimes people die as collateral damage, Wanda saved countless lives from a terrorist. her son was in the wrong place at the wrong time. if anybody was the murderer it was the terrorist

KingofCoo1

Steve said he knew Hydra killed Tony's parents but not that it was actuallyBucky who did it. In Winter Soldier, Zola showed him that Hydra killed Tony's parents.

Bobby Coolbreeze

This was like Avengers 2.5 Minus Thor and Hulk Who know’s how this would have turned out if they were there? I really liked this one The Captain America movie’s are some of the best in the series. Despite all our hero’s being in this movie. It’s still Cap’s movie and a very personal story and who would have thought that he would have fight iron man to save his best friend. In many ways the outcome of this film is like Deep Space Nine the. Avengers are shattered and broken much like the Alpha quadrant with a darkness looming over them ready to take advantage and conquer.

Thomas Malley

Definitely watch the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spiderman movies before you go further with the MCU.

Jen Murray

First 2 Tobey's are on my channel 👍

Curran Dobbs

Bucky: I didn't kill your father. Black Panther: Then why'd you run? Bucky: Because... I don't want to die? Come on, man.

Andrew Hogan

Just got done watching the reaction. In my humble opinion I would wait until after Eternals to watch the Andrew Garfield movies. Don’t interrupt this ride, I’ll leave it at that.

JPDotCom23

Oh crap, that’s why you said Andrew Garfield’s. Ok sounds good.

Adam Doyle

I would highly suggest watching the 2 amazing Spiderman movies, (prior to no way home) though not the best, they give much need backstory. Just like watching original Marvel movies (fox studios) are a must for watching the deadpool movies

Bobby Coolbreeze

I was team Cap all the way From the comics to the movies. Cap is always for what is right. This was the same dilemma in the winter soldier. Tony and Steve fighting broke my heart Tony was blindsided understandably and could only see red. Every one was a victim here. Cap knew how Howard and Maria were killed by Hydra in the winter soldier but didn’t know it was Bucky then. Cap i think was right about the Accords but he was wrong about Tony and he does feel he let him down Tony was wrong about the accords and realized it in the end and won’t help Ross track down Cap and the rest. Tony is still hurting and feels betrayed. But he knows down the road he will need Cap and the rest to fight what’s coming. Like Cap said they will fight and lose together if that’s what happens. They are family not just the Avengers.

Kane

I always forget how good this one is in terms of ranking all the movies and then every time I rewatch it I'm like damn, should this actually be in the top tier? Loved your reaction. In terms of what Cap knew and when he knew it, In the last Cap movie Zola (computer bunker guy) told Cap and Widow of some of the things Hydra had done masked as SHIELD and killing the Starks was one of the things he mentioned. It's something most of us missed on the first viewing.

Sean Ellingham

Firmly on Tony's side here. There are some valid reasons to critique and argue against the Accords, but unfortunately Cap doesn't really use any of them - the actual argument he ends up using boils down to saying the Avengers should be able to do whatever they want, which is completely indefensible. Cap's comment about the Accords simply shifting responsibility away doesn't hold any water either because the Avengers haven't taken responsibility or faced any consequences for their actions - as Ross says they routinely flout both laws and borders. Furthermore, almost everything that happens in the movie demonstrates that the Avengers (both sides) have almost a complete disregard for collateral damage.

The Irish Buddhist

I've seen Civil War many times and grab something new from it every time, but I've always seemed to remain on Tony's side with this one. Super Hero's or not there needs be accountability... don't get me wrong I do see Caps points and some do make sense. I think that's why when it all boils down to it I see Black Panthers take on it the clearest. (Not because Iron Man and Black Panther are among my top favorites) Because of what he state's about agreeing with the Accords but not the Politics.

Thadman

Yes, and since The Winter Soldier had been assassinating people for over 50 years (and we were learning about the Winter Soldier and HYDRA during Zola's stalling), I definitely put 2 & 2 together and said, "Ah, Bucky also killed Howard" while watching it, but my friend who was sitting next to me during both "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and this "Civil War," didn't put that together either. I kept saying, "It was obvious that's what they were saying," and he was like "It wasn't obvious to me." Later, watching reactions, I realized it wasn't so clear to most people OR they'd forgotten that detail by the time this rolls around because the difference between us watching and reactors watching is that the reactor usually has only seen each of the movies once, while we watched them multiple times in between the next movie(s), so details are clearer in our heads.

Thadman

I don't think the woman was angry from the POV of her son being at the wrong place, wrong time; her son was killed in Sokovia from the destruction 'cause by Ultron and Tony CREATED Ultron. It wasn't so much about the bad timing as it is her blaming him for creating the thing that did this and this is also why he feels guilty. Not about the specific battle, but because the battle even happened. Wanda and the terrorists are a separate thing and I do agree that it was Rumlow's fault and not Wanda's. People would've also died from the bomb if she hadn't moved the explosion. She just changed which ones died, unintentionally, while trying to get the explosion out of the way.

Jason Scade

Fabulous reaction and a super fun action film. Glad you enjoyed it so much. We hope you're feeling a touch better. 🙏💜
