Thanks, Jen!

Ian

Let's watch some awesome reactions with lady Jen in the twilight zone 🔥🙂 loving this show and seeing how much Jen loves it makes it even better 👌

Ian

Brilliant thumbnail once again what an epic pose capture , I love it that's a top tier thumb if I ever saw one 10/10 🔥👌

Dylan

Thank you for reacting to more Twilight Zone Jen! I’m loving the reactions and I’m so glad you’re enjoying this show! 🔥

Ian

Not many days of may left now so if you still have request picks left don't let them go to waste , head over to Jen's request site www.jenmurrayxo.com and add your suggestions and upvote any you like while you're there 👍

The score really adds to the atmosphere. I remember being constantly spooked pretty good by a lot of the episodes and I think the score always does a lot of the heavy lifting.

Drew

Thankful that TZ got voted in for to react to, Jen. You're starting to see what makes this show a classic. I wouldn't say the show is generally dark, but it is not shy about showing the ugly side of humanity. I was blown away by the surprising twists and depth of a show that was 20+ years old by the time I watched it in syndication in the early '80s. Look forward to a lot more classic episodes, some of which are extremely relevant today with issues we are currently facing.

Jen's back in The Zone 😄 Perfect to watch while I have my dinner. Thanks Jen 😊

Trish

Igeussed early that he is the boat captain that sa k the glasgow

Geoff S.

The main protagonist in the first one is actor Richard Conte. He did a slew of great film noir movies but may be best known as Barzini in The Godfather.

Darryl Low

The scores for the Zone are done by lots of different composers, and quite a few composers came back multiple times simply because they could write great music very quickly. Each episode usually has about 12 - 15 minutes of music. To save on budget, some episodes re-used music from other episodes. Keep watching the credits and in a few more episodes you will see a composer's name you are very familiar with 😊

Keith Goodnight

There've been happy endings. Keeping only to episodes already watched, which I hope is okay: The astronaut in the pilot episode wakes up from the nightmare to the support of his colleagues. The salesman in episode 2 goes to heaven. Mr Denton gets over his alcoholism and despair, and is set free from the constant challenges by other gunslingers. The tired executive returns to his life with a better perspective after his trip into the past.

Christopher Lamont Harris

You're getting good at recognizing episodes written by rod Sterling and I'm glad you're enjoying the Twilight zone and I enjoy your reactions

ellis

Ooh pretty spooky this week - I love it.

Barry Hammock

Judgement Night is the first episode I remember watching with my dad on weekend reruns.

ak416

Two fantastic episodes this week, thanks Jen! Highly recommend reading about Rod Serling's time in the military as it's a very common theme in his writing.

Chris Biebel

BTW, on a personal note, the episode that Rod Serling mentioned with the 3 astronauts next week was literally the very first episode I ever saw. I still remember when I ran across it on TV as a kid (about 7-8 years old) watching it in my grandparents' sun room and thinking "What is this show? This is wild!" Judging by comments you made during the 1st episode this week, I can't wait to see your reaction to a certain episode that's coming up in a few weeks. No spoilers, but that will be fun to watch...😉

Look out, Arbogast!

The music was done by a rotation of composers, but the main theme and episodes like 'Where is Everybody?', 'Walking Distance' (personal favorite!) and 'The Lonely' were by the legendary Bernard Herrmann. Some recent movies you may have noticed his music from are 'Vertigo' and 'Taxi Driver'. He's done other Hitchcock films like 'North by Northwest' and 'Psycho'.

K Dub

The tragedy of "Time enough at last." Stuck with me before I got glasses and became real to me after living through a major destructive earthquake here in California where I lost my glasses amongst rubble. It's a terrifying feeling. Thank you for another great reaction! I have to look through your reactions for one particular episode I'm excited to see you watch involving an actor you know who is just starting off. And I didn't see in the reaction that the actor Burgess Meredith is "Mickey" the boxing trainer from the Rocky movies. Thank you!!!👏

Gary Cameron

Another two great episodes, Jen! Both are very unsettling nightmares, and VERY inventive in that, if you've never seen it before, you have NO idea where it is going to end up. I wasn't around during TZ's original run, but I remember my older siblings talking about it, but I did see it in reruns. I can't recall many truly "happy" endings (maybe none?), though there were some that were funny, but always in an ironic way. Glad you are enjoying your trip to "The Twilight Zone".

Gary Cameron

And "The Day the Earth Stood Still"

Paul Patine

A game I used to play when I watched these reruns as a kid -- yes they were reruns even then, used to play late on Friday night when I was allowed to stay up, right after Dave Allen at Large -- was to guess what the final image would be at the end credits. The last show for example was the life preserver. If you play the game after a while you will start to guess right.

Jeff Franz

Jen, I enjoyed your not-quite-Elaine dance in the first one. 😁

Kane

It's weird, i feel like there's been a twilight zone marathon on New Years Eve for my entire life and someone inevitably puts it on for half the day, but at least half of these first 10 I don't remember ever seeing before. Really enjoying the watch-a-longs.

Clay F

I like these two episodes. The spooky first one has the chilling feel of someone in the back seat while you driving at night, the creepy carnival, and the creepy hot cat girl. The second one is done well.

Lady Beyond The Wall

So glad I'm not the only one! 😂I swear I've seen A LOT of the Twilight Zone.. but somehow, someway.. I don't remember these two?! And I really enjoyed them.. so I don't think it's that I don't remember them because I didn't like them. It's like they just didn't exist for me until this moment. Like I'm in a weird Twilight Zone episode myself.. but a really boring one where it's just me not remembering some episodes even though I could've have sworn I've seen at least the entire first season multiple times.

balboa316

You started Twilight Zone? What a pleasant surprise! Let's go!

John Liebling

Special surprise is awaiting when you get to season 2 episode 7. I won't give specific spoilers, but you will smile and cheer. Remember Twilight Zone started in 59 and ended in 64. The first Rocky movie came out in 76. Burgess Meridith played Mick, he was a famous character actor back in the 40s, and he played Mr. Bemis. There will be plenty of famous actors from the 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond, getting their start in the Twilight Zone. The biggest happy surprise will for you, will be season 2 episode 7.

Also someday watch Night Gallery

Vina

The second one definitely had Rod Serling's fingerprints on it - he was very anti-fascist/anti-Nazi as well as anti-war, and it comes out in a lot of his stories like this one
