Your squeal at 8:06 when you saw Kirk & Spock almost merged with the Bosun's Whistle sound perfectly! :)

Joseph H Searles

The scene at the end where Sisko meets Kirk was taken from the episode Mirror, Mirror.

Geoff S.

Jen gets the Emmy for best squeal SFX!

Dean

I've been rewatching DS9 and I find myself judging episodes on how much Jen will enjoy them. I *knew* this one would hit.

David

I watched a behind the scenes on this episode, and they said they did use the same lighting and filming techniques of the 60's to make it look like the original series. They also talked about the "Forest Gump" video insertion they did to put the DS9 crew and TOS crew together.

Gary Cameron

This is a masterpiece of digital technology! And I LOVE Jen's reaction. 😁🖖

Gary Cameron

The part that makes me laugh the most is Worf's discomfort trying to explain why Klingons look so different - without explaining ANYTHING!

Geoff S.

No spoilers here but I think that question gets answered later on but that’s all I’ll say.

Desmond

Which was still very fresh and new at the time. It's completely seamless, even by today's standards, albeit in SD.

Desmond

Yes, but honestly I like how they treat it here better...best not to explain it overmuch lol.

Geoff S.

Today that episode would be a lot easier and cheaper to do.

Stephen Koehler

At 2010 looks like the guy in the Red Shirt is none other than the original author of the Trouble with Tribbles, David Gerrold. Gerrold approved the episode stating that it was better than anything he would have created. Gerrold served as an advisor to match scenes with the original episode as well. New SXF models of the Enterprise, K-7 and the Klingon cruiser (which did not appear in the original). Great pains were taken to use a grainer film in order to match the inserted scenes with the original 1960s film stock. I love this episode and have been waiting for Jen to get to it. I nerded out on this one myself. The best thing was the coiencidence of the DS 9 Production staff locating original Arne Darvin actor Charlie Brill

Michael Griffiths

I love it when you totally nerd out. This was even better than Worf showing up. Made me laugh.
