Two more classic Zones with Jen. Perfect cosy viewing for this dark, drizzly evening 😊 Always good when we get a woooaahh from Jen 😄 Both of these episodes are cool, and so different. The fade to black moment in Templeton really is a masterstroke. The morale of the Camera episode is, in The Twilight Zone, never stand near an open window. It never ends well 😅 5 minutes doesn't give you a lot of time to influence your decision, other than monetary purposes. You could see what a winning bid was going to be on Ebay, or if you were waiting on a bus or a train, you could see if it was going to arrive on time haha. Thanks for 2 more awesome Zones today Jen.

It's weird because that theme has been burned into my psyche since I can't remember. I hope you watch the original Outer Limits at some point. It's very well written sci fi that makes you think and every episode is an hour stand alone story. So many classics in that run and it only went for two seasons. Art Carney, in next week's episode, was already a tv superstar at this point from his time on the Honeymooners.

Drew

Agree on how wonderful and chilling the speakeasy scene is where everyone stops what their doing as the scene fades to black - one of my favorites of the entire series. I'd also give the win to the second episode, but the first one had the deeper message, which is always a bonus. The first one also had a future famous film actor/director playing the play's director - Sidney Pollack. A great way to see his talents both in front of and behind the camera is the 1982 comedy "Tootsie," that stars Dustin Hoffman in the lead role.

Hey, Ralphie boy! 😄

Gary Cameron

"The Trouble with Templeton" is a great episode. It also falls in with what seems to be a common TZ trope of time travel, second chances, and alternate realities.

Rob Nichols

The Outer Limits is a perfect follow up after The Zone.

Chris Biebel

Being Canadian, you might not get the Speakeasy setup in the first episode. Since it was 1927, it was during Prohibition in the US, so they'd have hidden bars where you had to speak a password to enter. Since the sale of alcohol was illegal at that time, they were constantly in danger of being raided by the cops. I'm trying to think of a modern analogy to give you an idea of how big a deal it was for the Twilight Zone to have Art Carney (next week's star) on it. It would probably be like having Bill Murray starring in a TV show episode.

Gary Cameron

The camera episode is also great as an example of the dark comedy sometimes seen on TZ. And yes, I try to avoid open windows - unless I'm on the ground floor. 😜

Geoff S.

I have never seen the Templeton one.

"A Most Unusual Camera" is my favorite type of time-travel trope. I often think wouldn't be nice to have a do over. My favorite reimagining of this is the 2014 film "Time Lapse." It's really mind blowing to wonder how the camera (in this story) or time itself is affecting or controlling the outcomes.

Dean

I like that the reaction to A Most Unusual Camera shows that Bender's love of scams has rubbed off on Jen lol

Patrick Turman

Wow. I was watching this and saw Sidney Pollack playing the young arrogant director in the 1st episode & thought: THAT'S SIDNEY POLLACK!!. But then it didn't sound like his voice so I thought nah, couldn't be him. But in the credits I saw I was right the first time. IT WAS! Sidney Pollack, one of the greatest directors in cinema history. Don't believe me? Go check out his imdb. You'll be impressed.
