The Chrysler mini van survived everything

TigerMyth

I liked it up to the Disneyfied ending with the brother. Just not believable in any way after what happened on the other side of the hill.

John Armbruster

This week's reactions are 🔥. But the John Williams t-shirt is off the chain!

Would love to see your reaction to the 1953 version. Fun fact, the two grandparents at the very end of this movie, actors Gene Barry and Ann Robinson, are the two stars of the 1953 movie.

Rob

I really appreciate you getting these YouTube edits out so fast. I imagine it's hard for you and your editor so thanks for the extra effort.

Julian San

Omg the lines about the solenoids had been laughing my ass off!!!

Anders Thomsen

The book is very different, but it is mostly a result of it being over 120 years old

Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds musical is the experience you want. The original release with Richard Burton is my favourite. There's a more recent version with Liam Neeson. Personally, I would listen to that one after the original. There's nothing wrong with the recent one, but I think it's a more interesting experience if you're familiar with the original recording.

You might want to check out the 1953 movie version also - a true sci-fi classic

Andrew Corlett

To paraphrase one of the scientists from Close Encounters, HG Wells was probably one of them.

Brettley67

This movie was parodied by Scary Movie 4.😁

Charles Keyman

It's been some time since I read the book but I am pretty sure the narrations at the beginning and end come from the bootk

Some other facts. 1) Wells wrote a sequel where Thomas Edison led a counter attack against Mars. 2) There was a 1943 movie version 3) Orson Welles on his radio show treated it as if it were real. Although he had disclaimers a lot of people thought it was real and it caused panic.
