I wanted to take a moment to share some updates, discuss a few things I've been working on behind the scenes, and give you a little preview of what's coming next for 3DMoonn!

There's quite a bit to talk about, so let's get into it!

🗳️ Suggestions & Voting System — Time for Some Improvements!

I've been reading your feedback and discussions about our current suggestion and voting system, and I want you to know that I'm paying attention!

I'm currently exploring different ways to make the process more balanced, interesting, and fair for everyone.

One of the things I've noticed is that certain characters receive a lot of support month after month but never quite manage to win. Meanwhile, seeing the same names appearing repeatedly can make it harder for other characters to get their chance.

That's exactly why I've been keeping track of frequently suggested characters and reserving some of them for future bonus releases.

If a character consistently receives support, I don't want those votes and suggestions to go to waste!

I'm also studying possible improvements to the voting process itself, with the goal of giving more characters a fair opportunity while keeping the community involved in choosing future projects.

Nothing is changing immediately, and I haven't finalized the new system yet. Once I have a clear plan, I'll explain everything before implementing any changes.

The goal is simple: more variety, better opportunities, and a more enjoyable experience for everyone!

🏆 The Painting Contest Is Coming Back in 2027!

Some of you have been asking about another 3DMoonn Painting Contest, and I have some news!

Yes, I actually had another competition planned for 2026!

Unfortunately, the unexpected loss of my SSD caused a major disruption to my production schedule. I had to spend a significant amount of time rebuilding projects and recovering from the damage, which forced me to postpone a few plans, including the contest.

But instead of rushing things, I decided to move the competition to 2027 and make it something even more special!

And here's the exciting part:

🎉 The 2027 Painting Contest will have a bigger prize pool than the previous competition!

Since I wasn't able to organize the event this year, I want to make up for it with an even better competition and more exciting rewards.

I'll share the official prizes, rules, and dates once everything is ready.

I'm really looking forward to seeing your amazing painted models again!

⚙️ Important Patreon Billing Changes

There's another important subject I've been working on recently.

Patreon is implementing mandatory changes to its billing system. Unfortunately, these changes are determined by Patreon and are completely outside my control.

Since our current reward distribution system was built around the existing billing structure, some adjustments will be necessary.

The good news is that I'm already working on a solution!

My priority is to preserve the value of your memberships, keep access to rewards as simple as possible, and avoid unnecessary confusion.

I'm carefully evaluating how to adapt our monthly reward system while keeping the experience convenient for both new and existing supporters.

For now, there's nothing you need to do.

Once the new structure is finalized, I'll publish a dedicated announcement explaining exactly how everything will work, including reward access and any important changes.

I don't want to rush into a decision that could create more problems later, especially after spending so much time improving our download system!

❤️ Looking Ahead

2026 has certainly been an eventful year for 3DMoonn, and not always in the ways I expected! 😅

Between technical setbacks, rebuilding lost work, and dealing with unexpected platform changes, I've had to reorganize quite a few things.

But despite all of that, my goals for this studio haven't changed.

I want to keep creating models that you genuinely enjoy, introduce more variety, improve the systems we've built together, and continue making your support worthwhile.

As always, 3DMoonn is a one-person studio, so balancing sculpting, technical work, community management, and everything else can sometimes be challenging. But I'm always looking for ways to improve how things work.

And most importantly, I want 2027 to be an even better year for 3DMoonn!

Thank you for your patience, your suggestions, your feedback, and your continued support.

Whether you've been here for years or just recently joined, I'm genuinely grateful that you're part of this community.

There's plenty more to come, and I'm excited to share it with you!

Thank you for being part of 3DMoonn!

The constant suggestions without winning and repeat suggestions seems to be a problem across all creators. I'm surprised that no one has created a system that tracks the suggested characters (and variants) along with a voting history (ie. when and by whom is was suggested, how many votes it's received, how often it has placed in the top 5 in a vote without winning, etc.). Anyway, just rambling. Hope the patreon changes aren't giving you as much headache as they seem to be giving everyone else.

Regarding the billing cycle, I suggest you do what most creators did and use this simple criteria: "if the supporter made a payment on the current month, they get the reward for the current month". For example, if I subscribe on Nov 10th, I am eligible for getting the rewards for November, and nothing more. My subscription will carry over to the next month, December, but because I did not pay for December, I will not get the reward for December. If I want the reward for December, I must make a payment on December, when my subscription renews. So far there is only one creator I support that chose to follow a different way to control, and is terribly complex. This way of controlling the rewards if not something I made up, it's just the way the far majority of creators do it, and that's why I recommend it. It's common place, it's simple, and absolutely nothing have to change on the number of models you deliver. Delving a little bit more in details, you will have to stop posting the gumroad links/codes on regular posts and on the Welcome Message in the Subscriber page. Both this places are available to every active subscription, and would allow a member to access reward from the "next month", which they have not made a payment. All distribution will be made by DM, as you already do, but now instead of "sending DM to all active subscribers", you will "send DM do all subscribers that made a payment this month". Several creators I support did this exact change in the last few days and weeks. If Patreons does not provide a way to filter only members that made a payment in the current month to send the DMs in batch, there are a few options. First, you can try talking to other creators to know how they are controlling it. If they are not very helpful, you can try finding out it there are automation tools to allow you to export a list of members that made a payment and use this list to send the DMs.

I will add some more information from my previous comment. According to Patreon Help, you can use the "Benefit Eligibility Status tool" to achieve that. If you follow the path "Creator studio > Audience > Benefits" you should be able to filter users that made a payment in the current month and send DM to them using this filter. I'm not a creator, so I can't validate how this page works, but if you do a little bit of testing you will probably find what you need. Just remember to filter the Tier as well, because the rewards are different. If it works as the Help page says, you can control the delivery of rewards with a few clicks. I believe that's how other creators are managing the rewards now, even making multiple deliveries per month.

Hey Pedro! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain everything in such detail! I really appreciate it. I followed your instructions and found the Benefit Eligibility Status tool on Patreon. It actually works! I can filter members by tier and billing period, and there's even an option to send bulk DMs directly to eligible members. This is exactly what I was looking for, especially since I manage the entire studio by myself and manually checking hundreds of subscriptions would be a nightmare. Haha! For now, I've temporarily removed the monthly download links from the pinned download page, and I'll be distributing them through DMs every 4 days while I test the new system. I'm still figuring out the best long-term approach, but your suggestion definitely looks like one of the simplest and fairest solutions. Thanks again for going out of your way to help me with this.

Pedro

3Dmoonn, I'm so glad it worked out, you are very welcome. I follow and support a bunch of creators, and saw many of them starting to use this criteria to manage the delivery, so it felt like the best suggestion for your needs as well.

OverlordTeas

I'm excited to see the changes to suggestions and it sounds like Pedro has given a promising solution for the billing changes with Patreon. I personally left 1 that became too complex and contorted to follow and ensure I got certain models and essentially i had to sub multiple months for a single model that wasn't a loyalty model (which they already had separate). I've got another that's overly complicated but I at least get all the stated models of the month. Your talk about simplifying the process as much as possible is truly appreciated 3DMoonn
