And to add to that. What stops you from using the coins stored or perhaps issue more paper money via interest? Basically there is more paper money circling around than there are coins stored. If everyone lost trust in the paper and try to get their coins, the bank could not deliver and bust. That's why shadows plan wouldn't work with the small scale. But Fox lady turned that around into a plan worth following, yet Shadow did not understand that.

Yup and this is one of the causes of inflation as well, new notes are printed to make up for lost notes and other problems (or because people get greedy and stupid and think printing more money makes more money) so each note is worth less of the stored gold or whatever object of actual value is used as the basis.

To be fair, Eta and Gamma are prodigies and Beta is studious so comparing their childhoods (being elves) is a little unfair to ours lol. I mean, look at Delta :s
