It is not a question which arc you enjoyed the most.. its the question whetever this season is 10/10 or A 10/10 :D

Some guy

My favorite part about this arc is that it has even more wild assumptions and miscommunication than the other arcs. Cid writes a letter that should be impossible to decipher, Eta manages to translate the letter from Japanese WITHOUT A ROSETTA STONE or any other equivalent or hint (!!!), and then Cid thinks Gettan stole the money. I mean it makes sense, because why would anyone assume that someone managed to translate a foreign language with literally 0 clues. 10/10 chaos, no notes.

Nick

"I wonder what Cid is thinking" Well that's mistake #1, assuming Cid is thinking PERIOD

Abura-bo

Personally I think Gettan is a horrible villain for Cid. All Gettan does is whine. "If only I had this" "if only I had that". Good lord. What self-respecting villain whines about how powerless they are instead of trying to accumulate power? Crimson was a better villain than Gettan even if he didn't get much airtime before being slaughtered.

RathZa

Notice how differently Cid talks to Delta? Nearly slipping up and talking about the stuff that really matters to him.

Dethrox

Gettan wasnt really a good villain to begin with :D literal Cult's Dog.. :D

Pawoof_

I just love it when Cid is himself around Delta, because she will smell his bs 🤣 Can't wait for the next episode!

apoc9

Cid and his path to richness again hindered by ability of Shadow garden. Also I like how Cid's strategy is to have zero responsibility just run away and come back like nothing happen.

wiski

13:43 - He's thinking Gettan must have stolen all the money, not realizing the girls came and took it after thinking that's what Shadow wanted them to do once they decoded the note.

LolLolowaty

I think he was whining because of the past and didn't pass on. He was complaining "I only I had that power at that time..."

Abura-bo

Yes, that's correct did whine about the past but he also whined the same old bit with his current situation. He refused to take responsibility that just maybe he made the wrong decisions and if he had done something different maybe through his own efforts he could have created a new outcome. Thanks for your feedback!

RandomNJguy

I always assumed shadow knew Eta would eventually translate it and use it to show the girls he had good intentions incase the 'super elito agent plan' blew up in his face, just the speed she did it blew that plan up as well. Then again knowing Cid he probably just wrote his whole plan down thinking no one would ever be able to read it and to just flaunt his shadow wisdom to beta.

Pat Yamate

Well it's the first time I see the translation since I'm a native speaker, and I understand it can be confusing. Note that the voluntary confusions are simple in Japanese because we remove the subject from the sentence in most cases, making it difficult to understand what the speaker is referring to without the context. This kind of wordplay doesn't really exist in English as each sentence needs a subject along with the verb; you focus on what the ennemy character or the allied character is saying, but when Cid uses "it" or "them" in English, you can generally assume he's talking about something else, so you must recall the context he was in during his previous scene. Using "it" or "they" without specifying is how they translated the confusion among the other characters, but it seems to be confusing English viewers as well haha

The Force

More likely the latter, Cid doesn't actually think that far ahead for practical purposes, only for drama or flare xD

The Force

No, Shadow did *not* think ahead of the cult or anything, rule #1 of Eminence in Shadow is that everything goes to Cid's way. There are theories on why but overall it's mostly just cause it's fun and funny especially since Cid ends up being his own straight man. He does everything for the drama and the flare and to play up his fantasy of the Eminence in Shadow as a joke thinking he's just fighting against bandits, thugs and criminals in general. He doesn't recognize Shadow Garden as *his* organization because as far as he's concerned the girls are just humoring him cause he saved their lives. At the end of everything he thinks it's all one big dramatic show that some people are playing along with, all while it's actually playing out exactly as he wishes it were xD

Blissfull Wulf

It's interesting in this season just how many people are motivated in different ways around more or less the same concept of wanting/needing/not having enough power.

Dredgen Colin

My favorite part of the money maniac aspect of Cid across the whole show is the simple fact that he need only ask and Shadow Garden would give him every single coin the organization had in its control, probably thinking its a trial from him to start over from the ground up, but that option would never even APPROACH his mind.

Tim See

Neila "huh!" surprise actually made me laugh. Love when she gets into these shows.

Tim See

He wanted power to save Yukime and her family (especially after getting destroyed by Cid). That's the initial reason he was manipulated by the cult. And that stuck with him throughout the rest of his life. It's easy to hate him if you just think of it as him complaining nonstop rather than recognizing what he is upset over.
