2:40 You’d hope so, but does a created NPC ever have free will? If not, the implications are … disturbing. Shaltear could be taken as proof though. I’d like to think Ainz cultivated a sense of trust due to him staying till the longest and maintaining their base for as long as he did. He loved this place Clementine reminds me a bit of Toga from MHK, far past the point of delu-lu.

i am SO loving the fact that you are watching slime and overlord simultaneously. the main characters and overall worlds have a LOT in common, yet the way the main characters navagate their worlds are quite different. looking forward to seeing how you like each story!

Well..... the only similar aspect of Clementine and Tanya is that both in a sense are scary blonds 🤔 Though, honestly the scariest thing is if you get taken back to Nazarick alive as an enemy

Mithril is fictional material (mineral/metal) used for its properties - durability, lightweight and does not oxidate. It is also very valuable. I think it was invented in by Tolkien author of Lord Of The Rings. If you ever want to watch good movie(s) Lord Of The ring trilogy is highly regarded albeit it is bit long especially the extended edition. In Overlord the adventurer ranks are named after metals from less valuable to more rare. Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Mithril, Orichalcum, and Adamantine

Oh no, Solo Leveling flashbacks haha. I was also curious about Ainz human face! I was hoping like Guts from Berserk or Auron from Final Fantasy 10 (X). Maybe a mix of both?

The Force

One really interesting piece of writing with the NPCs you'll see going forward actually is the "are they just who they are cause of their settings, or cause of their choices". A fun examination of nature v nurture as many people debate this irl too. Our lives can drastically shape us, but often people can go against expectations based on their life experience as well. Studies of twins on this are fascinating. Twins raised in the same house can end up surprisingly different from each other, while twins separated at birth can share a surprising number of traits and behaviors despite their homes being completely different.

I do feel like it isn’t that weird that they are formal. If humans are trash, then Ains is basically a god, a creator. Furthermore, he is their only god or king left and basically is the leader of even the players by default. Add in the their settings and general social structure, you end up with a very strict or rigid hierarchy.

This also happens to be the correct ranks, from lowest to highest prices per piece, of Terraria (game) metals. These metals are probably found in more games nowadays but Terraria is the one I can name for fact has this ranking perfectly and I think that's neat.

Pretty sure Albedo doesn’t mind that Ainz messed with her settings because of the “deeply in love” part, which tends to make you see past the faults of the person you love deeply, but also because of the whole king/god esq position he holds.

Dang, if Clementine reminded you of Tanya(Same VA by the way.) then that means you've already watched Youjo Senki, would have loved a reaction series to that. Youjo Senki and Eminence in Shadow are two of my favorite series to watch reaction watchalongs of.
