The subtitles say he/him for the wise king of the forest. But it's actually a girl.

The ,scheisse' at the end - I felt that... I had the same reaction when I first watched that moment cause Ainz is not around anymore in this moment and you wonder... and I watched that with knowing a week is inbetween this and the next episode... das war so richtig scheisse! XD

Tyler

First, they make a movie after you, "Megamind" and to follow it up they put you in overlord as the "Wise King of the forest"? You must be very popular in the film industry. 😲😧 🐹🧠

Hamster so cute!

"Gozaru" is in Japanese archaic form of verb "desu" which means "is" like for an example 「これはリンゴです。」 read "Kore wa ringo desu." = "This is an apple. In anime it is used by characters that are or want to be samurai since it was used historically by them. Ainz finds it odd he encounters someone using it. In conclusion it tells nothing to Ainz about the Wise king being hamster.

Naming an animal in this show doesn't grant it power, that twist is somewhat specific to Slimy boy.

Always Frothy

I mentioned this before I think, but I think it is funny that a lot of reactions is the, "Nabe, chill!" To us, that is obviously overkill, but, to these characters, Ains is the embodiment of absolute strength, wisdom, efficiency, beauty, and authority, which can be gathered from their responses in episode 2 I believe it was. If humans are "lower" lifeforms, then the "supreme beings" are gods. Nabe basically just messed up, again, in front of her king and god, despite being told multiple times on how to address him and to keep a low profile. She is also a bit further down the totem pole compared to even the floor guardians, shown by her deference to "Lady Aura." The gap from that hierarchy to what we expect and see/ know is just huge and kind of ironic.

The Hamster is really funny, but interesting, because it is really strong in terms of this world. So obviously people of this world learn to fear it's appearance rather than consider it cute. The difference in environment created a different culture I guess.

Also TSUKIMICHI kinda does that. But yeah, it's rare.

Rotting Time

2:40 I’m watching this at 4 in the morning, because I’m sick and mostly just irresponsible 😎

Twohearts Off

Yeah, I'd like to see Neila react to this one as well, but it has some really slow moments so I'm not sure it'd make for some good react material. The good times make it worth it for solo viewing, but if she reacts to it we'd sometime get 2 episodes in a row of filler reaction.

Neila Reacts~

yeah that s why ainz was so surprised at the way they looked at him haha

The Force

Oh look, Neila laughing and finding a cute awkward twink nerd adorable again! xD Also yes you'll see a *lot* of similarities between this and slime, both authors were DM's for D&D games prior and while Overlord draws more heavily on it in mechanism both draw and enhance little bits for their own world. For example. A group of heroes hired to figure out why monsters have become more active at a distant village. They discover the once powerful monster which scared things away has vanished, or that some powerful monster from a nearby deep forest/mountain have moved out for some reason pushing the more dangerous denizens deeper in outward. They then have to resolve this usually by killing whatever powerful thing is the source of the problem. They can get more complicated like the monster could be driven out by a cursed blade dropped in a battle between a devil and angel which the players take away and go on a whole new adventure to purge which results in them eventually killing an arch demon or something. Pretty common beginning/mid level adventure so both stories having a powerful creature watching over a forest that causes/may cause disruption when removed makes a lotta sense when you know that history and info. Lots of stuff will also be familiar to people who have played a lot, or even just some, of TTRPG's like what ritual the necromancer was talking about in the last episode cause variations of it exist in most TTRPG's (no spoilers for you though!) But yeah lots of the random adventures and events you'll see some occasional crossover like that xD

18:05 What Aura uses here is a skill that applies fear to the target with halucinations and stuff, that is why it went aggro.
