Fun fact. The work to visualize the black hole was an actual astrophysics break through from Kip Thorne, and led to research papers being written cause this was the first time we knew what a black hole would look like.

While he def almost screwed the mission, I always felt a lot of sympathy for Matt Damon's character. Landing on his planet, and having the slow realization that not only did he get the short straw (as far as he knew) and that no one would ever pick him up would be a nightmare as he lived through. As he said, he hit a breaking point, knowing that if he just hit a button someone would come check on him. And considering his name is Hugh Mann (Christopher Nolan sometimes has the subtlety of a brick being thrown through a window), I always thought he was meant to represent the whole Plan A vs Plan B argument. Plan B is technically the 'better' plan in the grand scheme of things, but it doesn't do anything for the people stuck on Earth. Neither humanity on Earth nor Dr. Mann wants to be the unlucky ones stuck on a dead planet having to be content that the rest of humanity gets to live.

you are right, i would have felt some type of sympathy for him but he kept on using those speeches to kinda justify his means in order to cope and also he KNEW about the main point of the mission, he KNEW the risks that came with it and even AFTER cooper mentioned he has a whole family, he still SELFISHLY chose himself alone. my sympathy was out of the window for him at that point lmao

Yeah, this movie is absolutely beautiful. Heartwarming and heartbreaking. Funny, sad, infuriating, inspiring. The story and acting are top tier. And yes, the score really makes you feel it. That Hans Zimmer is one hell of a composer.

Fun fact, the metronome ticking on the water planet had meaning. One tick, about 1.25 seconds each, meant a day passed back on Earth.

Only a few movies have made me ugly cry and this is one of them

I'm glad I got to rematch this, I didn't feel nothing with the family stuff the first time. It hits so much harder when your older and time seems to fly by in seconds. Glad you liked the movie

you know its amazing how fast brand switched to the mc after the one she supposedly loved died after spouting all that love transcends all bs. as for his love being the reason for why he connected with his daughter. yeah no he just happened to be the one in the time loop is all.
