"Like a native, Indian guy" I can't speak for everyone under the indigenous umbrella, but "Indigenous" is a much better term to use IMO cuz it'saccurate and doesn't have the historical baggage. Some folks are fine with the term "Indian" but some of us consider it borderline a slur. My grandma uses the term "Indian" sometimes, but she grew up with that the hard way...

I so empathize and sympathize with the dad (Will) but I get the kid too, I'm glad the dad found the kid in him but there's something to be said about the fact he bought those to build THOSE because he enjoyed the process. It'd be like buying warhammer mini's to paint and then coming home to find your kind having dipped them in a bunch of paint and fucked em all up. Sure the kids being creative but so were *you* and just cause you're following the instructions or enjoy doing things right/correctly doesn't make you uncreative it's just a different outlet/expression. Which is ultimately the whole point of the show, the Master Builders learn from Emmet that sometimes doing things the way you're supposed to is actually good and the dad recognizes that maybe just cause he wants to do things a certain way doesn't mean he can't accept and even indulge in his kids way of doing things a bit. Still I probably woulda just got additional sets specifically for the kid and locked my fuckin basement cause it's also just an awesome set piece to show off to people and talk about xD

No worries! I appreciate your consideration. Like, some indigenous peoples embrace it, and it isn't inherently a slur, but to some of us it's basically our version of the n word. It really depends on the context and nuance of the when/where/why and how it's said, and I know you had no bad intentions.
