Yeah, season 1 of LoM is really short for the amount of story volume 1 has. Most of the slice of life was cut out. The lessons with Niel, the shooting range training, working with Psychology Alchemists, combat training, just walking around the Tingen looking for the memories of notebook, time with family and many more. Therefore the death of Niel hurts much more in the novel. Season 2 should have about 30 episodes and vol. 2 is about the same length (bit longer) as vol. 1.

20.6. special episodes will come out. They will cover really important content that was left out in season 1. It will introduce new important characters, pirates (One piece references included) and the first mission of tarot club.

He did indeed say something weird! He offered to pay!! Lol. You dont see it as much since they cut so much stuff, but usually he is always trying to get others to pay for him. Several times he would order drinks on other peoples tabs (like last episode) and he was always talking to Klein about how to get the Church to reimburse you for stuff you buy. He even did that first ritual Klein saw to get money to pay off a debt he owed xD So its kinda like having a friend who always is trying to mooch and never pays for anything of his own if he can find a way around it offering to pay for everyone. That is surprising!

12:22 so extra detail from the novel: The ability he used to test Klein draws out the latent madness and destructive tendencies in him. If Klein had not sufficiently grasped the potion, under the influence of Cesimir's ability he would have acted on the latent madness brought by the potion, that why they restricted him during so. And since Klein showed no signs of madness and destructive tendencies, Cesimir can confirm that Klein has fully digested the potion.

The small piece with some text on it, which Klein found in the remains was something Neil and him saw in the black market. It is a piece which was written on by Roselle, and it is said to bring luck and all, but translated it only means Dumbass or so. Thats why klein didnt buy it, but Neil wanted that bit of luck.

Can't recommend it enough, it was my first novel and It made me fall in love with reading. I hated reading untill I started LoM. I advise to start reading from the beginning to get the full experience.

My understanding was that Neil bought it to gift it to Klein at the party since he thought Klein was interested by Roselle's text but it was too expensive for him (Klein is very poor in the beginning).
