The Force

Had to look it up to refresh my memory, BIG Wall of text incoming: Achilles and the Tortoise is a somewhat famous philosophical argument presenting a paradoxical statement to challenge certain concepts of plurality (primarily). It's one of several made but few remembered by "Zeno of Elea" called Zeno's Paradoxes. Quoted from philopedia: "Achilles and the Tortoise is Zeno’s paradox arguing that a faster runner can never overtake a slower one with a head start, because he must first reach an infinite sequence of points the tortoise has already left, making motion or overtaking seem impossible." It basically challenges pre-socratic ideas of motion, space, time and infinity in general by proposing a series of seemingly logical steps: • Achilles gives the tortoise a head start • Achilles attempts to catch the tortoise • By the time Achilles reaches where the tortoise was it has moved farther • Achilles must attempt to catch the tortoise again • Repeat into infinity These steps lead to a completely illogical conclusion: A faster runner cannot catch a slower runner with a head start. Based on the idea's they had of these things at the time this would have to be true but by showing the illogical conclusion that we all know isn't true cause we've all seen a race, it meant that something they believed or assumed about how motion through space and time worked was wrong. Later science would basically show that while it's true space can be infinitely divided it's not true infinity because if you infinitely divide a finite space the totality of those divisions is the original finite space. Seems really straightforward to us now but it was a big philosophical idea back in the day. How does this relate to Gojo? Basically he explains that his ability Infinity allows him to enforce that infinite divisibility onto space, he makes *himself* the tortoise and everyone else achilles trying to catch up, but they can't because he's creating infinitely smaller amounts of distances they must travel in order to reach him, thus the closer they get, the slower they go and they never actually arrive at their destination: Gojo. As he says though, that's just the simple basics of how his ability works, extrapolating from that information when he "basically appears" in the window he essentially inverts it pushing a point that's infinitely close to him out so far that by traversing it he basically teleports. At least that's always how I took what he does there to work, the JJK writers play around a lot with some crazy philosophical/theoretical stuff made manifest for some of their abilities.

Thank you for the reactions, Neila! Looking forward to more, this season is great. (Hope you feel better soon too, take your time). All of this is information you already know from the movie and Season 1: Megumi's family name is Fushiguro Zen'in is the big sorcerer family that Maki, Mai and a few others came from Shoko is the nurse that was going to perform autopsy on Itadori when they thought he was dead Utahime is the one with a scar on her face that Gojo still teases a lot

GIRTH demon

Neila you're making me mad lol

Neila Reacts~

Thanks a lot! Yeah I m not good with remembering names at all lol

GIRTH demon

Megumi full name is (megumi fushiguro) so that guy with dio voice is related to him lol

Neila Reacts~

Ok? I always mention I m not good at remembering names so if that is making u mad then maybe my content is not for u

GIRTH demon

I'm not really mad I'm sorry if i offended you

Neila Reacts~

It s ok. I m just putting that out there since ur first comment came out that way. If remembering names is something u need in a react then I m just not the content creator for u. I dont even remember IRL people names so….

JitterBones

It's so much fun watching younger Gojo and Geto! I appreciate the reacts! Toji putting a bounty on the girl, with money he doesn't have, and gambling on the side even though he is totally broke and has no money always gives me a chuckle. Far too close to real poor people I know XD

Silver

Lmao imagine 1st grader Megumi having a hit out on him
