Fun fact: Before they became friends, Dust and Kazuma swapped parties for a day. Kazuma's party was amazed at what a great adventurer he is, while Dust had to learn the hard way just how useless the three girls are without Kazuma's help.

In the light novel and the anime, Megumin is 14, Kazuma is 17, and Darkness is 19. I ignore that, though, because half the jokes across the beginning of the series don't make sense if their ages have been cut down. In the original web novel(when all the early jokes were written), everyone was three years older. Megumin was 17, Kazuma was 20, and Darkness was 22. They were de-aged in the light novel adaptation for marketing purposes.

It's actually the reverse, because this episode's story was written back in the days it was a web novel, when everyone was three years older. (Most of the early jokes make more sense that way. Megumin's an actual ADULT who just LOOKS young, which is why she gets so offended at being called a child, and Japan's drinking age being 20 lines up with Kazuma and Darkness drinking, but not letting Megumin drink. Also the fact that Megumin's even ALLOWED to join the Adventurer's Guild in the first place.) The light novel adaptation de-aged everyone by three years for marketing reasons, but never rewrote any of the story to compensate.

Huh, I thought that those ages were at the end of the light novels so I just went backwards 2 years, which is roughly the time passed in the series.

It's in the LN as well. It's a damn shame they cut the Wiz and Dust chapters, but understandable since originally the first season was just an advertisement for the LN, but exploded in popularity well past their expectations. :P

yup, I'm tilted that they skip this. Because of this, the only time we saw Kazuma full power without the 3 debuff is all the way at season 3.

I always thought it was obvious that the Succubi moved that way because it's an unconscious reflex. As in, they do these actions the same way we blink or breathe. It's a reflexive reaction to being around targets that can be tempted.

Probably not crucial but... The "succubus" looking young is not the appearance Kazuma has ordered. He ordered "a dream", so it doesn't really matter whether it's an old hag or a kid that shows up. The "physical" succubus just sucks the vitality while the "victim/customer" is seeing the dream of their choosing. I'm suprised so many Western reactors get this wrong even though the demons come from there, but I'm supposing it's specifically because the "real" succubi are from Europe (term used from 14th century, but name comes from Latin), and in the original European floklore, the "real" succubus appears in the dream as herself. The repeated relationships with the man leads to the birth of a hybrid child (called Cambion), but the guy gets his vitality and sanity sucked dry and dies. In Japanese versions, succubi either try to seduce men in real life or let them have erotic dreams (hentai versions suck something else dry...), but the original concept of seducing men with their original forms within a dream to produce a hybrid offspring seems quite rare. PS: the male version is called "Incubus".
