You are godsent. I just deleted my comment from Episode 8 awkwardly trying to ask where it was until I got here at main page. I did not even seen it at main page between rest of the posts. It is now. Curse of being too soon to the party I suppose :)

T3RS1

Yea right?! Haha she always say that. Ikemen dudes are forbiden to die. I'm like Rimuru in the shop ...

Orireth

why is Rimuru sitting like that? cause he is the cool interrogator, Hinata and Rimuru are doing the classic murderous cop, cool cop technique. Also there is quite the irony with this whole god's mercy talk

Ketanak

i enter the paylist and start binging to find out that this ep was skipt

The Force

Economically, Rimuru is a threat even if he's a "good guy" cause there's only so much trade that happens, and originally people either went through the Dwargon in the north or to the South through them. They had to go *around* the forest cause monsters were slaughtering people on top of the terrain being rough for large transport and that put trade through them and so they were first stop, the "gateway to the west". Now Rimuru has made the forest not only traversable but *preferred* making Tempest the "Gateway to the West" and all the perks that go with that (Tariffs, taxes, centralized trade as merchants meet there, control of goods should they need to exert economic influence) Maribel is a greedy fuck, and a human supremacist (though this is in a world where, until Rimuru, the best monster's would do for human's is ignore them, at worst rampage and slaughter them by the thousands or millions so... Y'know) but she's absolutely right to be worried about Rimuru. On top of that she doesn't know Rimuru was a human previously (I don't believe) ,or if she has heard it could easily be suspicious. After all Beyonder's are *known* to exist so a particularly clever monster could pretend to have been human to lull people into a false sense of security. Altogether while she's being a bit... rash for how cunning she's been built up to be, Maribel's reasoning is solid. Though I do love that you believe in the powers of talk-no-jutsu :P

Mariabelle is basically a doomer when it comes to Rimuru. She is assuming that when he gets his way, and is widely known as a peaceful, benevolent Demon Lord, and has everyone off their guard he is going to start making demands. She thinks that he being functionally immortal can afford to play nice for years, decades, or even centuries until he has amassed enough power to essentially make "peaceful negotiation" into "I said it so, its going to happen, and there is nothing you can do about it. She doesn't want to let Rimuru be able to passively sway votes just because of how powerful he is now, and she doesn't want him to be able to outright control the outcome in the future because, who could possibly stop him at that point. We have to remember that barring VERY exceptional situations, humans are basically defenseless against a lone, Unawakened Demon Lord (with basically only summons, Hero's, and Saints being able to stand up to them), and Rimuru is an Awakened Demon Lord so, ONLY those kinds of people would even have a chance, and he has already "tied" with Hinata the Saint despite being basically an infant in Awakened Demon Lord terms. Now factor in that Rimuru has an entire NATION of named, evolved monsters some of which are basically as strong or stronger than a Unawakened Demon Lord, is himself an Awakened Demon Lord, and that unlike the other Demon Lords, doesn't live out in the middle of nowhere and is actively engaging with humans on a national scale. I can see why Mariabelle is wary of him looking at it from an outside perspective. Rimuru has nukes (and is one himself) while everyone else is still fighting with swords and spears so to speak. (Also, though I may be mistaken, it is an agreed upon rule that for the most part, Demon Lords don't really attack humans unprovoked. I seem to remember that being mentioned at some point in the seasons. Though, again, the humans wouldn't know that)
