The time is finally here! We're finalizing the details on this year's slate of RiffTrax Live events, and we're excited to let you, dear Traxians, be the first to know about them with this special perk.

Join Mike, Kevin and Bill LIVE-live from the RiffTrax Studio in Minnesota, right here, on Wednesday, February 19th at Noon Pacific (that's 1 pm Mountain/2 pm Central/3pm Eastern). They'll reveal the titles for this year's live shows AND answer your questions in a Q&A, before we launch this year's campaign.

Have a question for the guys? Leave it in the comments below, and they may answer it during the livestream.

We'll keep this post pinned so that you can easily come back to it next week, and we'll also update the post to remind you the morning of so you don't miss out. Thanks for being a Patron!

EDIT February 19th: The stream is about to start. See you there!

EDIT for titles!

Back this year's campaign: RiffTrax Live 2020: HOBGOBLINS and AMITYVILLE - THE EVIL ESCAPES!

Traxians (that's you, Patreon subscribers) who also back the campaign at $50 or higher, and who are active subscribers when the campaign closes, will receive an exclusive Bill Corbett Challenge Coin! We'll post the design in a future post here on Patreon.

Patreon RiffTrax Live Kickstarter 2020 ANNOUNCEMENT

Announcing the 2020 RiffTrax Live Kickstarter!

Comments

Dave Gold

If you guys had an unlimited budget and no issues with rights, what would be your three "bucket list" movies to riff live?

Emily Brown

Will you riff the movies of the books read in 372 Pages We'll Never Get Back? There is no "Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff" film, fortunately. Also "The Mister" isn't a movie.....yet. The rest are quite riffable!

Emily Brown

Why doesn't Disembaudio sing over the credits anymore? I enjoyed the off-kilter singing.

Sarah Kimmel

Are you ever going to incorporate the VODs into the app? Please?

Michelle Baba

How much do I need to donate to get a big hug from each and every one of you (minimum hug 90 sec. each)? How much to look deeply into your eyes and tell you how much your riffs have meant to me over the years?

Amy Mormino

A "Cats" commentary could be a good stretch goal this year. Also for my question: Would you consider yourself pro or anti cats in general?

Michael Ettner

I have to say, I miss the days when those of us who stand in the line for hours on end used to at least have a few front-row seats available at the live show. Even when you guys started doing Kickstarter campaigns, at least for the first couple of years, I could manage to get a front row seat if I got in line early enough. I guess I shouldn't complain. There really isn't a bad seat in the Belcourt Theater. I just kinda miss the old days. Regardless, I'll still be at every show, even if I have to stand in the back of the theater!

Emma Schroeder

Could we get a run down of how RiffTrax usually goes about getting rights to the movies they riff?

Troy Gies

I still want the first foreign language riff: El Charro De Las Calaveras (1965, Mexico). Not dubbed, not subtitled. Just in all it's own odd glory!!

Troy Gies

This one is special... 😆😆

Matt Stetz

Will there be shorts before the movies this year? I like watching the shorts before the movie.

Neal Colford

Would you ever release a list of movies you wanted to riff but couldn't or didn't?"

Kevin Kordis

My hopes: a) new material b) VOD rights for all shows c) 3 riffer editions to previous riffs (Troll 2, Over the Top) d) holiday riffs (I’ve missed those)

Leanna Wylder

Will you do a live show from California in the future?

Britt Bisson

Can't wait for the announcement... My wish list: Mitchell, Birdemic 2, Samurai Cop 2 and something for Christmas.

Geek Girl

Any thoughts about riffing TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze?

Denise & Kyle Konop

We would love to see a live riff of The Apple someday! BIM is on the way, and the world needs to know!

Wendy Burke

You would never break up like the Beatles, would you? PLEASE say you won’t!

Well hello there

Have any of you ever actually eaten at a Golden Corral?

Jim Bush

Is there such a thing as too many fine Utz Cheese Balls? If so, just how many tons are involved?

Tyler Goodison

Any chance of Kickstarter perks around the making of a riff, teaching the idea of how to a write riff or the life cycle of a riff (how it's born, finessed/evolved, to delivery)?

Jeff Nye

Soooooo ready!

Marty Hall

What's it gonna take to get one (or more) of you to come to Soda City Comic Con? I've got cheese balls!

Jayson Mondala

Is it just the picture link above to start the stream?

Larry Moody

Can't stream from where I am.... please someone post the movies in the comments here.

Gordon Snow

Audio sync is whacked but, I'm listening!

Bonnie

Dammit, quit blowing up Fort Worth! :-)

sauron3236

Any chance of getting Frank and Trace to do more stuff with Rifftrax?

Scott

Why less shows?

Zerocool

My audio is cutting out, is it just two shows this year?

Sean-Casey King

Now you have to do the Cobra MP3 riff as a kickstarter reward, sounds awesome.

Eric Rose

My name is Eric and I had no idea I was in control the whole time.

Mick

Thanks Erik!

Vince Averello

Oh, Thank God! Bill challenge coin. I'll have a complete set!

Acefink

Please do a Limited Edition "Hobo Nickel" variation of the coins.....of course, the proper follow-up would be a Mike-designed "underpants" heads/tails coin ......

Fred and Ben

I've asked before: could you give fans here a longer lead in - a full day or 2 - to announce shows so we have a better chance to grab those expensive goody bags? I'm in Japan and when I wake up on the first day, the meet and greets are gone. My 5 year old daughter would LOVE to meet Mike in person. But by the time I know about the new kickstart, all those prizes are gone. :(

Rudiger

I have to say I’m a little disappointed with the rollout. Not only was it in the middle of the afternoon (fortunately I was off that day to watch) but the “announcement” lagged behind the Kickstarter. By the time Bill sang the Hobgoblin song, the titles were on Kickstarter and over half the VIP slots were gone. Why not announce on Patreon the movies and the date/time in the next few days the KS will go live, rather than both simultaneously? That way the KS can launch at a more reasonable time and Traxians actually get advance info.

Rudiger

Erik, Thanks for the response. Not to beat a dead horse, but I’m not sure you take my meaning. My issue isn’t that the Kickstarter and Patreon announcement weren’t properly synced but rather they were too closely synced. It was actually to a viewer’s detriment to watch the Patreon “announcement” because, by the time it was done, most of the high-level goodies were gone or mostly gone. My suggestion is to do the Patreon livecast where you announce the movie titles and the start of the Kickstarter. “Hey, Patreon subscribers! This year we’re doing Hobgoblins and Amityville 4. The Kickstarter goes live this Friday at 7PM Pacific Time. That’s 8 Mountain, 9 Central and 10 Eastern.” That way folks who have jobs that don’t let them watch live can log in to Patreon that night, watch the recorded message to get the info, and plan for the impending Kickstarter launch. That way there’s value to the Patreon subscribers and the start of the Kickstarter is much fairer game. Yes, the information will be all over the forums within seconds of being announced but it’s still not on Kickstarter before it’s even been announced by MKB, and folks who can’t break away from their jobs in the middle of a Wednesday aren’t completely out of luck.

Bev Westerberg

You forced me to look up Rula Lenska on Wikipedia, thereby using up precious Wiki juice. I’m in the know now, so I guess it was worth it.
