Hello Traxians, Erik here.

Hot on the hooves of our Talkin' Moose Baby post, as promised is the original, unriffed HD short that we transferred from a film print some years ago. While Kevin gave me a shout-out in the aforementioned video, I didn't actually find this new cut of the film, but I did try to remind everyone now and then that we had this important piece of RiffTrax history already "in the can," and that we should do something with it one of these days.

My dream is that we'll be able to realign the existing riff with this new version of the film, or perhaps get the writers to craft some new material out of it. This version certainly looks 1000x better than the originally riffed one:

What do you think? Should we redo this classic riff with the new transfer?

For now, please enjoy Moose Baby, in all its uncut and unriffed HD glory. Download this video here in case you want to riff it yourselves, or perhaps to use as your next remote meeting background.

Until next time, Traxians!

Your pal,

Erik

I'd love to see it re-riffed. Just don't add Hayden Christensen in.

Von Doofus

“If ya gotta problem, yo- I’ll solve it, check out the cut while Rifftrax revolves it... Moose, Moose, Baby....”

Kerry S.

I think Moose Baby is loved by enough people that a new riff for the new remastered version would be a great idea.

Joshua McGovern

I'm interested in a reriff of Moose Baby IF you put it before Hobgoblins once you go back to doing live shows.

TommyG

Please redo it with the new transfer. I of course would like new riffs but it’s fine either way. Thank you very much.

Matthew Parmeter

On the one hand it's super sweet and fun to watch. On the other hand, I want to know how they filmed the baby moose without the mother trampling them to death. And on the third hand, I wonder how many of these animals knew the rumors about Disney and the lemmings.

Paul Lilienthal

I am interested in all things Moosebaby.

Scott Meade

Methinks the new version demands a new treatment. I'm sorry it's just how I feel.

Mary Jeschke

I'd like a new set of riffs, but shut up and take my money either way. 💰😍 Edit: You should slap in a few poorly computer animated storm troopers on giant lizards too, and edit it so moosebaby shoots first...

DalGoda

Thank you. Always like having originals in the collection. Yes please redo the using the new version. :)

Chris Sorge

Love to see a redo as it's one of my favorite shorts

11th Anniversary Remastered Special Edition Moose Baby, anyone?

Bort Ward

Speaking of 50s goodness... have you guys seen 'The Gambler'? It's the "prequel" to 'Shake Hands with Danger'.

Garance A Drosehn

I do think the script of this video is funnier in the version where they're saying "Moose Baby" instead of Baby Moose".

John Wilson

At least we know the narrator said, "Long, wobbly legs" now and not something else...

Thomas Noel

At the break neck speed of the narration it may be hard to fit in riffs, but I have faith the RiffTrax crew could do it justice.

Rampant404

Moose Baby Special Edition please!!!! (Moose baby shot first tho)

Derek Levesque

I miss Harrison Ford's narration, but I think Moose Baby's dream of the unicorn did add some ambiguity to everything. Actually, I think the original narration was better, and if they re-riff this, I wonder if they can re-synch that original narration over the parts from the original, and then just have the 2nd narrator's words cover the newer uncut parts of the film.

Moose Baby, Moose Baby give me your hoof/ Give me something to remember/ Just like before we can walk by the shore in the moonlight/Moose Baby Moose Baby there on the ground/ From July to the end of September/ Riffing was fun, We'd be out in the sun everyday
