Our winner this week is Star Trek V: The Final Frontier!

Before it starts, I'll be hosting a special Traxian-only pre-show JUST FOR YOU. I'm still figuring out exactly what we'll be watching (no pressure!), but it will start tomorrow, Thursday, December 17th at 4pm Pacific / 7pm Eastern, over at @TheTraxianRoom. NOTE: Scener recently added the ability to hide parties with a code, so for this one, you'll need to enter the secret code SHATNER to get in.

Then, at 6pm Pacific Time / 9pm Eastern we'll go live on the @RiffTrax Scener theater with Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. The movie is a brisk 107 minutes, so if all goes smoothly we should be done by 7:45 pm Pacific / 10:45pm Eastern.

And next Thursday, on Christmas Eve, I'll be streaming a bunch of my favorite Christmas riffs, starting at 2pm Pacific / 5pm Eastern, and everything will be playing through Vimeo, so no subscription service is required to join. I'll be spinning some classics and maybe a couple newer riffs - and it will only go for a couple of hours, in case those of you with kids need to get them to bed early for any reason...

See you soon!

Your pal,

Erik

¡Hola, Traxians!

It's time for another Turkey Thursday! This week we have some pretty decent options, although one of my favorites I had originally wanted to include - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - recently got pulled from Disney Plus, and pretty much everywhere else, just in time for Marvel/Disney to announce a new F4 movie! (Hey, the fourth time's the charm, right?)

In any case, I'd like you to help me decide what this Thursday's Turkey should be. I've curated a selection of choice cuts available right now on Amazon Prime and HBO Max for your perusal below. (Prime also has the rest of the Twilight Saga available, in case that's something that interests you!)

Thanks as always for helping me craft these Scener events! I love doing them, and I hope you'll join me for these last couple Turkey Thursdays of 2020.

Your pal,

Erik

Seconding Star Trek V. Definitely a turkey. ; )

Jason S Perry

Star Trek V: The Death of a Franchise (very nearly anyway)

Paul R.

If you count the Roger Corman movie, fifth time's the charm for the Fantastic Four actually.

Chris Nelson

Twilight's a hilarious spectacle of a road accident. Always a funny watch.

Karl Hamann

Star Trek V! On an unrelated topic, Erick a question on coding in your downloads: Wh ydo some dwnlds have "memory," but most don't? I mean on maybe one in 5 Riffs, the program on the disc will remember where i was when I had to stop watching; it'll go right back there, even if the disc had been out of the palyer. But most don't! Curiously, some cheap cartoon compilations (Digitech) will do this too! Explain!!

y...you know what i picked...

My roommate has Amazon Prime for only $7/month, because he's on public assistance. We're both on limited incomes, so we haven't put up the money for HBO Max. There's still a wealth of stuff on YouTube and Twitch, that we can leverage with our $40'month high-speed internet.

I’ve always thought that the Eragon RiffTrax didn’t get its proper respect. It’s one of my favorites that isn’t as well know.

Does anyone else receive malformed emails with giant graphics that you have to scroll through? I may be old school since I use a real email client on a Windows workstation, but one would think I shouldn't have to turn the magnification to 25% to be able to see the message properly. By the way, I am in IT so I know it is not my settings. :)

Erik, I didnt notice, did Prime have Twilight: Breaking Wind? I herd thats the best one....LOL

Erik, the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is on Starz right now. For some reason some of movies Disney owns now e.g. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Wolverine, Home Alone, etc... are first put on Disney+ then a few weeks later it's taken off because of someone's current streaming rights e.g. Netflix, Starz, etc... Why Disney does check who has the current streaming rifhts to movies they now own the IP and copyrights to is beyond me.

Devin Gates

Let's see, Shatner... Shatner... Oh great, he's in this one; we're in trouble.

Lisa Boban

And once again you break my heart. I can't use Scener. I have Android devices and a work computer that I can't add that extension to. Sigh...

Justin Wingate

So wait, we need Amazon Prime? Crud. I better get a subscription.

Techy

Will there be a link provided to the Vimeo Christmas Eve event?

Karl Hamann

Just a note, the first animated Christmas short Alias St. Nick, is great! of course it helps that I'm a fan of the old cartoons...!

Techy

Erik where do you enter the secret code for the Traxian-only pre-show on Scener?

Andrew Buckles

Thanks for a great evening. Gathered the whole family and had a blast. Is this Scener thing weekly (the late one)? I first watched the 11/12 one and hadn't heard about it until your post last week saying it was moved to Thursdays, implying it's a regular thing.

The Real Pumaman

So, I'm not sure why, but I had to join late, and when Scener tried to load up Amazon Prime and sync to the current time, it got stuck in a restart loop. I tried this multiple times and eventually had to give up. Not sure if anyone else experienced this.
