Merry almost-Christmas, Traxian House!

It's a Wonderful Life has been the Holy Grail of movie riffs for us for years, even getting SO close as a Kickstarter stretch goal on more than one occasion. Alas, a riff of this holiday classic seemed like it would never be possible... until now!

How can this be so? Well, through the miracle of editing, of course! It's true, we had to remove a "major subplot," along with some of the background music in a few scenes, but that still left us with plenty to riff on - and talk about. So Mike, Kevin, Bill, Conor and Sean hopped on Zoom to do just that.

Enjoy! You can also download this episode of Talkin' RiffTrax here.

I enjoyed it, but if you're taking feedback, add a vote to the yes pile for a "Just the Jokes" edition where you do the whole thing.

Honestly, nothing you guys could come up with is likely to be as funny to me as just cutting to George running happily through the streets, and Bill saying "Clarence gave him the $8000!" If a Just-the-Jokes of the whole movie ever does come out, I'll definitely get it, but I was happy with this edit.

I can't wait to watch this, but I would really love a JTJ of the entire film... please consider it!

Regarding the Angry Dad energy of Jimmy Stewart, this is one of four or five movies where it's acceptable for a man to cry precisely because it has the Dad message of "You make sacrifices because of your obligations to family/community but those sacrifices are appreciated!" It's a movies whose message isn't "Follow your dreams"!

As always, Mike's Jimmy Stewart is on point. I kinda wanna see all of them do a "Jimmy Stewart off" like they did with Andy Rooney back in the day. You're topic: loans.

Karl Hamann

"Your." You're welcome! (See what I did there?)

During the years "It's a Wonderful Life" wasn't available outside a cable channel, I only encountered the title. Going through 30 years' clinical depression, I always responded in my thoughts "No, it's not!" When I finally saw the whole thing, I was actually gratified that it didn't oversimplify. I could actually enjoy it. I've still only seen it once or twice, and am really looking forward to your version. I hope you don't talk over the movie.
