Hi Traxians! Erik here.

Our resident graphic artist and illustrator Jason Martian is a super-talented guy. And with our upcoming release of Gumby: The Movie, we thought it'd be really funny to task him with coming up with a handful of "alternate" posters. The idea here being that we'd insert Gumby and his pal Pokey into some iconic posters of classic movies. Oh, fer fun!

Jason came up with possibly too many ideas, but honestly, I would have been happy if any of these had crossed my desk in a finished form. The ones he ended up finishing were Jaws, The Graduate, and The Exorcist, which I've included here, along with the eventual final poster, variations on the sketches for Jaws, and a bunch that never made it past the sketch phase.

Which one's your favorite?

That Geek With The Clip-Ons

Wish the Fear and Loathing one was finished! It’s an appropriate one given how surreal Gumby gets at times. ^__^

Travis Arnold

The Exorcist one is my fave, just for how ominous the poster still is even when it's Gumby and not Max von Sydow.

bd

I'd have suggested Dreamhorse. Gumby as Toni Collette and Pokey as Dream.

Rebecca Beiderwell

This is Gumby Country! The Jaws ones are also fantastic.

Charlie Guenette

The Graduate one is definitely some good old-fashioned nightmare fuel!

Tracy Palma

The Gumby Jaws is fantastic.

Michelle Walker

The Clockwork Orange one is probably the most risque...I was very concerned until I saw the caption at the bottom!!

Samuel Smith

I would have loved to have any of these as finished but my favorite is BTTF.

Versatyle Villain

I especially like "The Graduate" idea as I was nearly in an episode of that when the movie came out....the mother of a friend acting out, I think!! Damn, if I didn't miss the chance!

Gabriel Ricard

The Graduate, but I also like things that confuse and scare me at the same time

Marcia Friend

“The Graduate” one is disturbing- Is Gumby turned on by Pokey in stockings? Whole lotta weird going on there, which kind of reflects the movie. I do like Gumby and Pokey ice-fishing for Jaws as well.

J.

Dear God! The Graduate and The Exorcist are magnificent mock-ups.

Terry Peterson

Very, very cool, but isn’t Gumby’s bump supposed to be on the left side of his head?

Richard

Oooh look, coloring pages, and not those annoyingly, microscopically detailed “adult” books, but a simple, monochromatic option!

Wayne Moyer

This looks like a good excuse to put Gumby into some of the older Rifftrax posters.

Jennifer Bowyer

Please make these available as posters, or at least the Gumby as the Jaws shark one!

Karl Hamann

"The Graduate," has to be!

Dave Gold

I want that Jaws poster!!

DalGoda

Love them! One of the alternates may adorn the official file on my media server. :)

Doug Mandrusiak

I have to go with the Graduate poster (The Gumbuate?) Are you trying to seduce me, Pokey had me on the floor.

Paul Johnson

Man, I wish the Fear and Loathing poster was fully inked!

Devin Gates

I'm terribly sorry, but I had to share one image outside the group. A friend named Marty, owns a DeLorean, loves BTTF and Gumby. It was made for him :D I'm thinking he'll be buying the vid too

Techy

Back to the Future Gumby and Pokey

Moviegique

"The Exorcist" one is sublime.

Thomas Backman

Fear & Loathing... PRICELESS!! (LMBO!)

Andrew Bosch

I can see which ones Art Cloakey would probably prefer to promote a Gumby production.

Justin Allen

The Fear and Loathing in Gumbasia poster actually made me laugh out loud.

Emily Brown

LOVE THE HUNTER THOMPSON ONE!! And all of the finished ones are really, really good!
