Hey Super and Ultra Traxians!

July is here, and since we're finally into the meat of summer, we thought it was about time we declared it The Summer of Joe Estevez. You see, not only are we about to riff one new Joe Estevez film, but we're about to riff more than one. The guys want to hang with you, and talk everything there is to know about The Summer of Joe!

Super and Ultra Traxians got to join us in the chat and submit questions during our July 7th live stream! Here's what that would have looked like if Joe himself was in the audience, and had connected using Phone Audio:

Enjoy!

The season "Summer" will now be called "Joesteves".

Darren Osten

Any tips on how to prepare for endless guitar noodling.

Bort Ward

I await the next 'meat raffle' and 'hot dish' fireside chat.

Mathew Gillette

Ohh no I thought it would be a Thursday thing. Bummer I missed it.

Jared Pahl

These "Hangin' Outs" are still being recorded, right? The last one I got to see was the Gumby one from May.

I appreciate that Joe gets the riffing thing. He’s no Joe Don Baker, that’s for sure.

Versatyle Villain

Sorry I missed it. I think I was busy twidling my thumbs on the 7th!

I used to rag on Joe E. as much as anyone else in the MST3K+ (I just made that up to include all the other offshoot programs) community, and I kinda still do. But, although I've never met him, a look at his IMDB profile shows that he's busier than a one-armed paper hanger in a windstorm. I mean the movies aren't Oscar material for sure, but it's work. I've also done soundtrack work for two movies that he's in-- which were never released-- but the director says he shows up ready to work every time. Look under his IMDB profile for the movies "Niemand" and "A Turn in the Sun," and you'll see me listed as "Additional Music" or some such. Again, I'm no Hans Zimmer, but I'm trying. All in all, I'm in favor of the summer of Joe, and shameless self-promotion!

once at my job i watched a training video on good customer service and i was shocked that it stared Joe Estevez. i pointed this out and managed to direct the post-video discussion with my co-workers into all talking about Joe and his illustrious career.
