Howdy folks!

Erik here. Funny story: those of you who joined me for Turkey Thursday last night will remember the first minute of this extended preview, which I had not seen until the moment I started playing it. Well, suffice to say that... a LOT happens, even in just that first little bit.

So, here's the full first FIVE minutes of our newest feature-length riff, Winterbeast. WARNING: contains blood, nudity, cheap gore effects, and bad stop-motion animation.

Winterbeast is a real gem, in the RiffTrax sense of the word “gem.”

It’s got that rough, homemade feel of a movie made over the course of several years, including actors with different haircuts from one shot to the next, and possibly even the actors themselves changing from one shot to the next. On top of all that, it’s got claymation monsters who look nothing alike and all seem to come from different universes - or at least, different art rooms in different abandoned asylums.

Which one of these monsters is the Winterbeast? It’s pretty hard to say. But it’s up to some hapless park rangers to figure out what’s killing people on their mountain. And for some reason, they have to answer to a sadistic old lodge owner who wants to keep the mountain open, “Mayor from Jaws” style.

Get the riff at the link above, and/or download this video here.

Wow! I thought the disclaimer was for the movie itself but they really did feature all that in the first 5 minutes! 👏

Ariel Freeman

The preview really is quite the adventure. o.O

Matt Stetz

I think you made a mistake here. This is clearly a montage of the movie and not the first five minutes of the movie? Right?

Katharine Coldiron

Thirty-five seconds into that minute I was ready to make a sarcastic comment, but boy, when you're right, you're right!

Stephen O'Leary

I was expecting the deer's head to come to life and attack somebody--maybe it does later on.

Jackalgirl

"Dick Sergeant" -- is that a job title?

Jackalgirl

I love how the straight-from-the-can sound of blowing wind completely cuts off when it's time for people to talk. Nature is beautiful that way.

We watched Winterbeast in its entirety last night. It just keeps going like this the entire time. It's like trying to recall a dream. We're pretty sure we're going to remember it in bits and pieces as five different movies.

Andrew Bosch

I think that the shot of the centerfold girl outacted the rest of them.
