Hi there, Traxians! Erik here.

To talk about their return to riffing after a few years away, I recently chatted with long-time contributors to the RiffTrax Presents catalog, Cole Stratton and Janet Varney, about their newest release: LADYHAWKE! We discuss everything from Matthew Broderick's attempt at a British accent, to the bombastic Alan Parsons score, riffing on movies they love, writing deep cuts, and more.

(Quick note: at about the 4 minute mark, you will hear sirens in the background of this recording. I thought I'd warn you about it, just in case you plan to listen to this while driving.)

And don't forget, you can listen to this and all previous episodes of the Talkin' RiffTrax podcast in your favorite app with your own exclusive, private feed! Just visit your Traxian Membership page and click the "Listen on other podcast apps" button.

Enjoy, won't you?

Garance A Drosehn

A nice job at riffing! The only sad thing about it for me was that I thought this was going to be a just-the-jokes release. So I bought a used copy of the DVD, only to find out that I didn't need it!

Note that the soundtrack was Composed, Orchestrated, and Conducted by: Andrew Powell Alan Parsons produced and engineered the record. He was in the sound booth twiddling knobs and deciding on the mix. The linear notes for the CD version released in 1995 were written by Andrew, and it notes that all compositions were written by Andrew Powell. That version also says that the album was dedicated to Andrew's father (Arthur), who died in 1995 (that is when the extended-CD version was released, ten years after the movie was released).

My only knowledge of Ladyhawke is that it was for some reason the only DVD at my grandma’s lake cabin. I would open the drawer and Ladyhawke would just be sitting there. Somehow I never watched it… I can’t think of a better way to do so than with Rifftrax! Just bought it with the Halloween discount. :D Thanks for doing this interview, it was fun to listen to!

Uh-oh, I hear the Riff police in the background! LOL Luckily unlike the Dream Police described by Cheap Trick, the Riff police won't pee in your bed. XD
