As said in the title -

A theme I've realized when I went through all of my characters in the discussion of their birthdays last week was... in most couples, there is one person who enjoys their birthday/always has, and the other person who (for various reasons) has never been a fan of the day.

All of my characters lives improve when they fall in love with their partner - because I think that's kind of the point of having a healthy, loving relationship, right? But there's always that one half of the couple whose life changes just a little bit more, I think.

So... whose life view on holidays/their birthday is the most shifted because of being with their loving partner?

(I, honestly, am excited to see what the general consensus is, because I'm not sure if I could pick...)

😆yup charlotte did not give fuck about anything but work and look at her now 🥰

Knew it would be Charlotte before even seeing the names! Gianna and Mia would have significant changes too, and all positive, but none so profoundly.

She told Sutton "you changed me" when they got married and boy did she change! 😍

Obviously Charlotte with her parents never really being there for her. I'm sure Sutton is making a point to have the most amazing day. Though I'm sure Riley is doing the same with Gianna

I had to go with Charlotte mostly because she's what's fresh I'm my memory seeing as how I just finished my second read through of TWW and am now working through Midnight Rain. She willingly gave up so much to begin with for her career and to keep disappointment out of her life. Sutton came along and smacked her with so much love and kindness she almost had no option other than to respond.

You asked two different questions so it depends a little if you’re talking about all holidays or just the birthday. I think Caroline for birthday in particular but Charlotte for holidays in general.

It’s hard for me to choose between Caroline and Charlotte, but I have to go with Caroline. The book really revolved around her bad luck at Christmas, and how she evolved over the years from hating it to loving it with new traditions and happier times.

All of the others had a community or something to do if their family wasn’t in the picture. Charlotte didn’t have any of that, government work is closed and her family isn’t around. She seems like someone who doesn’t even tell her coworkers it’s her bday and just carries on.

Charlotte! Homegirl prob never blew out a candle until Sutton.

This is a hard one since they were all really positively influenced by their partners but I’ll have to go with Charlotte , girl had nobody besides grandma , Caleb and Dean 😟
