Hello, all! Welcome to the first annual Cassmas! I'm putting together a little holiday package for one of my favorite readers (one of you). It will include a handful of carefully curated items I want to share with someone! So, comment here with a fact about you - favorite book/tv show/movie/ship, a lil story, favorite kind of candy or snack, anything you want - or a question for me! (regarding anything about my books/characters - past/present/future, patreon, holidays, idk... anything you want). I'll collect these questions and make a post answering all of them, as a lil bonus thing. Please comment by Sunday December 18! I'll notify the winner, then. You can live anywhere! No restrictions :)... it's gonna be a good one! (I love giving gifts)

I know this is from way back, but… Fun facts about me: I have a plumbing/gas license and have an insatiable interest in psychology, social work, and law. I met my s/o online 15 years ago and we have two children who are 4 and 7. My family means everything to me. A couple of books I love: Spindrift by Anna Burke the X Ingredient by Roslyn Sinclair. I love all of your books and I think that your writing skills are off the charts great. Some of my favourite tv shows/movies: BBC’s Lip Service, The L Word, Lost Girl, Winona Earp. Kiss Me, I can’t Think Straight, Below Her Mouth, Happiest Season.

Oh.. and can’t forget about Temptation by Kris Bryant.. also a great book! Had to add.. I could add more and more. Too many good books and movies/tv shows!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I love WYLEI, do you plan on writing anything more with this? Or do you have any exciting plans for books in the future? 😊

A lil fun fact about me. I am an overnight 911 Dispatcher for the Department of the Navy (in the U.S)for the last 4 years. To pass the time I do A LOT of reading when there is downtime through out the night and when I can't find a new book that sparks my attention I have frequently re-read your work!!! They are some of my comfort books (All your books are lol). I have a serious love affair with sea salt dark chocolate. Although my favorite Ship changes frequently if I had to pick and all time favorite it would have to be CLEXA (The 100), but I'm currently stuck on RAYLLA ( Motherland). My question for you is what do you find the most difficult part in writing a new story?

I admire people who can answer to the question: can you tell me a fun fact about yourself. Because I often get nervous because i don't have fun facts about myself 🤔. I could maybe say i have two cats but i am allergic to cats. My favorite book is the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo. My favorite show is Buffy the vampire slayer and my comfort show is friends. I don't eat lettuce because i feel like a rabbit and i could eat chips everyday if it didn't clog my arteries. My question: you said on your zoom cession your family takes Halloween seriously. What about Christmas?

I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. My favorite TV show is Seinfeld and my favorite episode is the little voice (helloooooo, lalala). My favorite show as a kid was Avatar the Last Airbender and I have a tattoo of a glider. I LOVE football and I am a die hard Eagles fan! I have two Eagles related tattoos, one of them is the Philly Special play and the other an art with the logo and the LOVE sign from love park. The day the Eagles won the Super Bowl was the best day of my life (please dont tell my wife that). I am a nerd! I love boardgames and D&D. I am also a writer but I write in portuguese. I love writing (and reading) saphic stories but I also love writing children stories. I have a lot of them and its all based on my students. I am a kindergarten english teacher and I am going to stop writing now because my favorite thing to talk about are my students, I can do that for hours and hours and this would be too big for anyone to read. My question for you: can you please write more WYLEI content? More Abbie and the Scientific Method, please? Pretty please? Btw this short story was the reason I recently subscribed to your patreon account. I do not want to miss all this great extra content!

Macon Books

In college I had a roommate who dated a philosophy major named Lawrence, which tells you pretty much everything you need to know about him, and he suggested I read three books. I read them because I am a chronic people pleaser who was looking to connect with this person I suddenly lived with who was very bad about taking the last of a thing and not replacing it. The books were : 1) Infinite Jest 2) A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius 3) Howl These three books told me, and are telling you, exactly who this boy was. Like I understood him intellectually, aesthetically, cosmically. He literally once said I knew him better than anyone. I cannot remember his last name, I honestly don’t know if I ever knew his last name, I know I never knew his family make-up, other friends, birthday, or any other real information about him. But, I got him because I read his books. What are your three books? Mine are: 1) My Name is Asher Lev 2) The Prince of Tides 3) The Little Prince

I have always had a hard time talking about myself, but here goes nothin’. I had to move around a lot when I was growing up, so when we came to the US, English became my seventh language. Growing up, I watched a lot of Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry. I fell in love with them was because of my dad - he always loved how hard Tom works to catch that damn mouse. My favourite book (besides TWW), is Written In the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur as well as The Road to Serfdom by F.A. Hayek. I am a huge sapphic fan. My favourite show is Lost Girl, and my favourite movie is Pitch Perfect. When I was growing up, I fell in love with basketball, so I spent my chore money on a new basketball hoop. I spent hours upon hours honing my skills in hopes of making it to the big leagues. Needless to say, the hard work paid off, and a scout came to my high school to see me, and my ass broke my ankle. Due to this, I had to put my basketball down and find another passion. I ended up going to grad school later and now I have a desk job. Why ask what my favourite candy is!? i love sweets. I love candy, cake and sweet tea. My wife cannot understand this. If I HAD to choose my favourite CANDY, I like these chocolate-covered bananas I get from Bosnia. When it comes to snacks, I love them all. ALL OF THE ABOVE. Lol. In regards to Those Who Wait, What part of the book did you have the hardest time writing? I hope you’re all well, and I wish you all a wonderful holiday. This was my grandmother’s favourite time of year, so with her passing last year, I try to bring joy and laughter for my family to keep her spirit alive.

Fun fact is I have a lot of family. A lot of blended, widowed, remarried, never married, step, in-laws, and siblings. I have 13 nieces and nephews (so far) eldest being 27 and youngest being a month old. When I brought home my wife (then gf) for Thanksgiving I had to draw her a family tree. When I did grad school and we did a genogram, mine was 4 pages, while everyone else only had a page. What shows I like is most things WLW but those are all getting canceled which really does suck. I credit Wynonna Earp and the Earpers for getting me into twitter, fanfics (i did old school Xena fanfic back in the day but stopped for a long time) and lesfic. Without that show and the community I wouldn't have eventually found you Haley :) My question for you is, how is full time writing going? I think I saw you had your MSW (I could be wrong). I have mine too so I was just wondering if you ever incorporate any of your experiences from your former career into your writing.

A fact about me... I am an avid reader and gamer. I am co-owned along with my husband by a ginger cat named Osty. His real name is actually Ostarion but my best friend decided that, that name does not suit him and started calling him Osty. The name stuck. As with all ginger cats I am part of the naughty ginger club, if you ask him, he never get's fed, loved or receives any attention. I lost so many mugs, glasses and comfy office chairs. Favorites... I don't have a favorite book but more a favorite book series, The Protector of the small quartet by Tamora Pierce. I read it at least once a year and even though it's considered young adult fiction I still learn from these books every time I read it. Orphan Black is my favorite tv series and I actually have a tattoo of the shell and DNA strand from Cosima's laptop on my arm. Favorite movie is The Holiday. Ellie and Dina is my favorite ship and they are from a game called The Last of us part 2. As for snacks, popcorn and more popcorn, preferably white cheddar flavor. My question... if you get stuck on a scene you are writing, what is your process of working through that?

Christa C.

It's difficult for me to talk about myself because I feel like there's not a lot to say, but a fact about myself is that I update a weekly queer friendly fantasy/adventure webcomic and it's nearing the end of its second chapter and I'm very proud of myself for even getting that far.  My favorite novel is Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow, favorite comic book is Blacksad, and my favorite book of yours is WYLEI and any short stories attached to it that you've added.  My Favorite show is The Legend of Korra and also my favorite ship is Korrasami from the same show ❤ My favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast (animated). I might add that I was an Animation major in college and nearly all my favorites are animated shows, movies, or comic books. My questions for you are: Is there an audio book planned for Down to a Science? And how long does it take you typically to finish a full length novel from concept to release?

Angie Bobinger

So I’m 30 year old southern girl who has been in Ohio for the last five years. Still not used to snowy weather and I don’t know if I’ll ever be. My favorite books growing up was pretty much anything written by Tamora Pierce. Now days I’m definitely hooked more on any sapphic reads I can find and yours are my favorite by far. My favorite band is incubus. I love rock music and playing video games. When I’m not doing that I’m working on my writing. My favorite candy is peanut butter snickers. My question for you is how do you develop your characters? Do you spend a lot of time doing it? Or does it just come naturally to you on what they’ll be like?

Ange Elson

I feel like you write children beautifully. The way they argue, love and feel sick. You always nail it. What is it about children that makes you want to include them in the books you write?

Kristen Smiddy

Let’s see. Southern KY girl here and your books are the perfect getaway from my community when needed lol. My favorite thing to read right now is really your books, especially the WYLEI story currently through the holiday season. Finding your books during this horrific year was really the best thing that could’ve happened. It helped pull me out of a bad funk after some unexpected losses happened earlier in the year. As far as shows, so many but I do have a quote from Wynonna Earp tattooed on my forearm. Candy, I switch between wanting something salty sweet or sour. I can’t pick a question so I will just say thank you for your writing and the stories you tell! I love these characters and following their stories.

Tiffany Wells

For my first question… how dare you?! 🤗 these books, and characters and lives/worlds you envision are too pure and perfect! Ca, born & raised, started with TWW 2 years ago and fell deeply in love with Sutton & Charlotte! Now I can’t tell which couple I love more! I started reading your work as my first sapphic author, and love that you have a fanfic background & am so thrilled you have found such incredible success! My OG was Bettina back in the day, and then some Britanna & more recently, loved the representation and story of Atypical on Netflix. Really just love reading and tv in general, and Sapphic just makes it 10000% better 🥹 Candy. Reese’s BP cups all the way. Or sour straws! Hope you have an incredible holiday! Real question, if you could be any animal, which would you be??

Tiffany Wells

Also… any chance we get a Taylor Swift folklore-esq surprise drop of “the snowball effect”… dying to know R&E’s crazy, chaotic journey!!

Sarah Elizabeth Davis

I'm Sarah and I love Chinese tea - particularly Dan Cong Phoenix oolongs. My favourite right now is honey orchid flavoured. I'm also a bit of a nerd and am currently working on assembling a remote control plane. Fave ship: clearly Sutton and Charlotte. Their relationship speaks to me like no other. I LOVE dark chocolate - I like it best kept in the freezer.

Dani

I’m Danielle! Fun fact about me is that whenever I meet someone new, I deliberately avoid asking them “so what do you do?” and ask other questions to know them on a deeper level - what inspires you, what’s something that you learned lately etc. My favorite ship is Sutton & Charlotte - I’ll read TWW & whatever alternate universes you create for them over and over again. Favorite candy is sour patch kids or M&Ms. My question is, how do you capture the emotional, painfully beautiful YEARNING in everything you write? I think that’s what makes me so addicted to your work.

Marie Sotiriou
