I may have an unhealthy relationship with Midnight Rain... After reading a chapter I would feel embarrassingly sad. I would then have to go and reread Forever and a Day to remember what a healthy relationship looks like. Less of the emotional twisting/manipulation… but then I crave more of it. I suppose this what happens when a truly great storyteller is at the helm.

I can see how this is a major role reversal between Charlotte and Sutton. I do believe Charlotte always wanted Sutton in the past, in every way- but just didn’t have the emotional vocabulary to be able to comprehend all she was feeling. I do find myself a little sad reading this in that they have both grown, a lot- Sutton recognizes Charlotte opening herself up a lot more- but at the same time thinks that Charlotte would want the same contract as they did all those years ago- and poor Charlotte says yes because she just needs Sutton in any capacity. I do hope they do have an uninterrupted-all cards on the table-conversation. Because even in second chance romances, things definitely will never work if you are still stuck in the then. So yep. This one left me a little sad, and like what someone mentioned before, I’ll be going back to forever and a day as a reminder. But- as with all these installments, I was hooked to every single word, and neeeeeeed to know what happens.

After reading the AU I always read the last chapter of TWW to remind myself that Charlotte chose Sutton over the potential demise of her career. I just struggle with the thought she let her go for 13 years.... But I'm so invested in this AU too 😂 love it.

This was such a satisfying read. Especially since in this AU, it was Charlotte who broke up with Sutton. And up to this point, she’d been playing it cool with Sutton doing all the first moves.
