THE WORKS - growvix [💾EXTRAS] (Patreon)

Commission sequence for Growvix!

I took a lot of inspo from the Roger Rabbit short "Tummy Trouble" - the frantic energy in that short has been massive influence on my art for as long as I can remember (it was on the Honey I Shrunk the Kids VHS, of which I also loved the opening titles, a real one-two punch combo of artistic inspiration for me), and I got a chance to really lean into that with some artistic freedom here!

Particularly in the backgrounds - when I find myself having trouble tying it off and being satisfied with the amount of detail in a piece, having a point of reference like that short helps me calm down and call it done a lot easier.

Like obviously there's the color palette of the operating room, I just love that blue-green combo, but also earlier in the sketch for part 4 I was thinking of basing it on a Johns Hopkins hospital building in Baltimore that I used to deliver sandwiches to a lot, but reeled it in and went closer to the smoother hospital exterior in Tummy Trouble so i didn't drive myself crazy and stray too far from the focal point of giant boobs busting out of the upper floor.
