single-slot YCH batch + stream slots open + adopt thoughts! (Patreon)

gotta stay ahead of bills and had a few sketches from some warmups & idea pile i wanted to offer as single-slot YCHs to patrons first, I'll post these publicly tomorrow! Same as last batch, these have a 10-week wait before I get into em to finish em properly, wanted to keep it realistic while I keep working on my queue. Also on the form, I took a few multi-slot YCHs that didn't get any interest, and dropped the price a little and made them single-slot & bumped em to the top cause I just really wanna do em - I'll advertise those clearance priced YCHs tomorrow too, wanted to let patrons know first!

Hoping to get a stream speedpaint scheduled each day, I've been really enjoying starting the day with them as part of the rhythm of the workday, doing a lot better finishing them up quickly, and getting back to working on prior commissions afterward.

Also, I wanna get in the habit of offering YCH like this more often, like weekly, rather than having to panic and scramble at the beginning of each month to make rent - figure it might help me get over some of the anxiety and guilt I feel over offering new things while I'm still working on old stuff if I just routinely do it no matter what just to stay on top of the bills. I know I'd have a way easier time chugging along on working on my queue if I stuck to my routine, but I'm always second-guessing my routines... gotta stick to one and give it a chance to show what works and what doesn't.

Also wanted to do more single-slot things for patrons since i've been a lot of stuff as multi-slot lately, so I'm planning to just drop batches of single-slot YCHs like this on a weekly basis, and list em publicly if patrons don't claim em. I'll offer some simpler & cheaper multi-slot things, but since I do those when I need to make enough to clear a certain dollar amount so I'm not limiting the number of slots, I'm not gonna do the Patreon exclusivity period with em, just gonna offer multi-slot from the get-go - and I'll do more complex things as single-slot just so I can make something special for Patreon supporters.

Lastly, I really miss doing adopts lately just as a creative outlet, so I've been thinking about offering adopt designs to Patreon supporters first the same way I've been doing with YCHs. I'm a little torn since I've thought about doing auctions on them with the general public, since that would help me immensely with recovering from debt, but I'm not sure if I wanna do Patreon-exclusive auctions, or limit early adopt opening to higher tiers, or what...? Auctions have always made me feel kinda weird, sets off a lot of insecurity and imposter syndrome stuff like "oh a design of mine shouldn't be worth that much", but I know my wife and I could really use the money to pay catch up from the wedding, so I ought to give it another try. I'll figure something out and give it a spin soon, maybe like a week or two from now.
