In Fire & Blood, the confrontation between Tessarion and Seasmoke above Tumbleton is described as a breathtaking aerial display, often compared to a mating dance rather than a fight. These dragons spiraled, roared, and exchanged fire while performing complex maneuvers high in the sky, observed by the townspeople.

In Fire & Blood, the dragon Seasmoke is killed by Vermithor, who locks his teeth into his neck and tears his head off before dying himself. The Blue Queen, Tessarion, is mortally wounded in the same battle, and, as she lies in agony, is killed by archers on the orders of Lord Blackwood.
