💫 Tutorial: How to create a Vanilla Save (without breaking your favourite modded save file) (Patreon)
Content
Hi! 👋🩷 For some patches, many Sims mods will break. In these cases I always play the game with a specific "vanilla save file" until core mods and other mods (including my own) are updated again. I challenge you to create your own vanilla save file! Not sure where to begin? Here's a simple to-do list for creating the perfect vanilla save during these patch times:
✅ How to Create a Vanilla Save File:
Move your Mods folder from The Sims 4 folder
Move your Mods folder to another location on your computer.
Start a fresh save:
Start The Sims 4 and click on "New Game"
Create a new Sim (or download a play-ready Sim from the Gallery)
Click Play (and go to world chooser)
Save your new Vanilla save file:
Open the "Options menu"
Click "Save As..."
Click "Add New File" and name your save file "My Vanilla Save"
This way it'll be easy to find whenever you want to play without mods again.
Open your Vanilla save file:
Click on "Load Game" when the game starts, and choose "My Vanilla Save".
IMPORTANT: Don't open your old modded save file until broken mods are updated and added to your Sims 4 folder again. This way, it will stay intact!
🎨 Some Tips for Your Vanilla Save File!
Download fun lots from the Gallery and place a few in every world
Download lots of pre-made Sims from the Gallery and add them to your world
Play different households rotationally:
Have some Sims focus on gardening, farming, or similar activities (in cottage houses)
Have some collection-focused Sims (there are plenty of collectibles to be found!)
Have some family-oriented Sims (in beautiful, realistic family homes)
Have some Occult Sims (in cccult-themed homes / worlds)
And so on...
