Possible Patreon Payment Info Problem (Patreon)

Hey guys 👋 So, I just found out that it seems Patreon has just changed their billing location from California, U.S. to Dublin, Ireland, and this might have caused a problem for some people because it makes banks think that it's potential fraud resulting in your subscription getting declined. 

Please, make sure to double-check and if your payment method didn't work, this might be the reason why. You'll probably need to contact your bank to let them know that it's not a fraudulent payment. The last time I checked on Patreon Support Twitter, they acknowledged the problem and seem to be working to resolve this problem.

All of my subs that come out on the 1st got flagged by my bank and now I'm just waiting on Patreon to fix it. It won't let me retry the payment on my own so I won't have access to any of those until it's resolved. I wish they would have at least warned everyone the were switching 😖

I'm so sorry to hear that and yeah, such a big change like this, they should've communicated that to both creators and patrons beforehand since the change could affect everyone involved, especially some creators who might've depended on their Patreon income as well. I saw some creators complaining about increased decline rate and patrons who had to go contact their bank because of this change 😔

The ones suffering the most are definitely creators that depend on it. It's just a nuisance for me, but for all of you creators that's income lost. Hopefully they get this sorted soon! My bank just sent me a text to see if it was fraud and I was able to get it sort, so now it's on Patreon. Edit: I got it fixed! Patreon sent out an email to retry the payments, so I had to actually go through and rejoin everything.
