Alright! Finally I got the basics down of this new feature. I have been working as hard as I could during the Easter Holiday, and at last I overcame the last obstacles. This is still quite basic I think, and I will definitely fine tune this further, but for now it works. I hope you guys can report on what you think needs to be improved upon with this. 

How it works

The Bouncer

First things first. The bouncer is a lot trait. Meaning you need to go to build mode to the venue (bar, or nightclub) you want to add the Bouncer to and choose the Bouncer Lot Trait from the list of Lot Traits.

Once the bouncer is added, he will eventually show up after you enter the venue. If you are playing as an adult, he won't do all that much, until your Sim becomes wasted. Then he might walk over to your Sim and ask him/her to leave the premises. If your Sim has the hotheaded, mean or evil trait your Sim might pick a fight with the bouncer before leaving.

If you are playing as a Teen, the bouncer might walk over to your Teen and ask to see an ID if he catches the Teen drinking at the venue. If your Teen doesn't have a fake ID he/she will promptly leave the venue. If your Teen has a fake ID in the inventory however, the bouncer will get tricked by this and won't bother your Teen Sim anymore (until he or she gets wasted, then he might ask them to leave anyhow).To get a hold of a fake ID. Get in touch with your local neighbourhood scumbag of a Drug Dealer. Apparently he has started peddling stuff like that as well. A Fake ID costs 1550 Simoleons.

Glitches Fixed

First of all, the Shaman will (most likely) not do autonomous swimming in the pools anymore. I have not been able to test this out thoroughly yet, but from a quick stress-test it seemed to be working. If you experience that he still does, please let me know. I also need to mention that Turbodriver now has sorted things out on his end with the latest version of WickedWhims, making the Shaman stop asking for sex with everyone.

There has been a bunch of requests for a global on/off switch for autonomous drug use. I have not implemented this in this version, but I have opened the picker option up for all the Sims in the world, so you can rather choose for yourself who should and who shouldn't do drugs autonomously. I also did the same thing for the picker option for choosing the High Level Client (for the higher Cocaine Dealing Skill levels). Children has also been removed from these 2 Setting options.

The addiction chance on alcohol has now been tuned up quite a bit. You still need to get your Sim drunk for it to be able to kick in, though. Tipsy won't cut it. I also made it harder for your Sims to get drunk, wasted and messed up, meaning your Sim needs to drink more.. sometimes.

To avoid selling to family members in the same household and just getting the drugs back as well as generating money in an infinite loop, family members have now been blacklisted as potential customers. You can still share drugs with them, though.

Some people reported an issue where bouncers showed up on other lots than the lot they placed the Bouncer Lot Trait on. That should be sorted this time around. Hard for me to actually test this out as I have not made it happen in my own game, no matter how hard I have tried, so please let me know if it still happens.

Installation Instructions

Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.

Download Basemental Drugs v1.2.5.02

Unzip Basemental Drugs v1.2.5.02

Place the unzipped files in your Mods folder.

Remember to delete your localthumbcache.package

If you experience issues with Buying or Selling - place bothofthefilesdirectly in your Mods folder.

Do that. I will have a look at getting the bouncer removed as soon as the active Sim leaves the place with the lot trait, for what it's worth. Also, weed has also been a part of the miscarriage functionality all along, but the potential has been tuned lower than the harder drugs.

Sort of building off Lowell's idea: maybe there could be fake i.d. quality. Like, if you get one from a dealer, it'll be good quality and the bouncer will fall for it, but if your sim makes one to sell, the quality varies, and a bad quality one will be more likely to be detected as fake. IDK if that's possible, but it would be an interesting mechanic.

Does anyone have the MC COmmand center and if so do you constantly have conflict notifications with it? I looked into the mcc notes and it says basemental and my road to fame mods are the conflict and it causes my mcc to crash the game. Didn't have this problem before.... Anyone experience the same thing or have a solution

Yes, I am working on a way to get the trait removed from the bouncer when the situation ends, you just need to be a bit patient and wait for the next update tbh. It is not like your issue will magically fix it self before that new version goes live :)

I had a glitch where my teen already has a fake id without purchasing one. Is there a way to fix that? They did have an interaction with a drug dealer but nothing was purchased.

I recently downloaded this version (and I'm also new to the mod) and I managed to reach a high level on the cocaine skill, but still can't manage to sell bricks to my VIPs even though I selected them through the basemental menu, I invited them to my house with bricks of both quality and the options never showed up. Is it only me? If so, how can I fix this? Also, can you choose the VIP clients again or are they permanent?

That sounds extremely weird tbh, as there is nothing what so ever that could or should make that happen. You can of course just sell it through your inventory to get it removed

Well, lol...First time I have ever had a sim to die...smh. I don't know how to feel behind it. she died from a drug overdose. Wow! I went to get a drink from the fridge, when I returned, she down for the count in the fetal position from a drug overdose. My niece was watching the game and starting crying like a baby.

One thing I didn't mention, and I believe it is important, I used to run a older version, the one on your page, and recently installed this one, in the game file I was already a cocaine dealer, could that be it? I just started a new game so, if the issue is no more, I'll let you know (on lvl 2 currently)

Shouldn’t have anything to do with it as long as you installed it correctly. You could try to delete your localthumbcage.package though. Might do the trick

I just downloaded the newest version and I'm not getting the "tipsy" moodlets, even after three drinks.

Did you actually delete the old version before installing the new one? The tipsy buff is 100% after the 1st drink. Try to reinstall it properly and delete your localthumbcage.package while your at it

Hi! I had an idea, what if you could make it possible to buy alcohol or something like that. So you wouldn't need a big ass bar at home to be able to get drunk. Maybe buying beer or stuff like that either in buy mood or via the computer. It would made the whole alcoholic part of it all more realistic, i don't know much about modding, but ive been thinking about this for a while and i just thought i would pitch the idea to you. Other than that i LOVE this mod so much and thank you for all your work on it!!

hey I have a question, I followed the instructions of making one of my sims a drug dealer, thru a NPC. However, I can't get my other played house holds to buy drugs from my played sim who's a drug dealer. is this not a feature?

Well, yes. It should work, as long as their friendship level is high enough but it will only work with the drug your Sim is selling. If he is a cocaine dealer it will only work for buying cocaine etc.

I had a thought, what if when your sims get addicted they get like an addicted trait, not only a moodlet for a couple of hours. This trait would make the sim want to do the drug and so on, and even if the sim if clean since a very long time, the urge still pops up once in awhile. It would make the whole addiction part of it more realistic. Not sure if this i possible but yeah, just a thought i had

when my current household, goes to my drug dealer sim and I click on basemental option... the only thing that pops up is "setting" or "Weed" & with weed it only says to sell him weed, but of course its grayed out cause those sims dont sell drugs.

As long as they are not lovers or family I don't understand why that is happening to be honest with you. Could you try to delete your localthumbcache.package (you can find it in Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4) and see if that solved your issue? If not, let me know and I will have a look at it on my end

What now? Sing? I recommend trying to first delete your localthumbcache.package found in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 - if that doesn't do the trick, try to place all your mods and CC except BMD in a temporary folder and start up a new save with just BMD in to see if the problem still persists. That way you can figure out if it is another broken or outdated mod that is causing the issue or if it's due to something wrong with BMD. If it still persists then, let me know

I did.. still doing the same thing. like he can sell to them when I'm playing him, but when im playing a different household they can't buy from him. lol its only annoying, cuz I have to switch back to him just so he can sell them drugs, other than that.. the mod is awesome.

Hi, it's me again. I couldn't find my last comment so I made a new one. I was able to choose my VIP client, both sims had to be in the same lot when naming him/her, after doing that I had access to the "sell brick" options. I can't stop saying this: great F-ing mod! :)

That should be fixed in this version, actually, so you can choose between all Sims in the world (except children and younger, obviously) - If that did not work I'd recommend you delete your localthumbcache.package. That might do the trick. Glad you like the mod, btw :)
