"One thing Moe Szyslak has never had is a partner. Nor a wife, a friend, a chum, a casual acquaintance, a pen pal, a parrot, a meaningful conversation, a brief hug, or eye contact. I'm just going to call the suicide hotline now. ...And they've blocked my number." - Moe Szyslak

Homer bails out Moe's by mortgaging the Simpson home, and Marge supervises this new investment by helping turn the run-down tavern into a classy British pub. But as Homer's bartender grows closer to his wife, will this scabby dead-eyed hunchback make him wear the horns of a cuckold?

On the commentary, while discussing the Cards segment, someone asks if the previous Gravey and Jobriath segment was also CGI, but Jean confirms it was stop motion. So that means there are Gravey and Jobriath figures out there! If the prices for original cels are getting out of hand, I think Henry should try to acquire the original Jobriath instead.

Glad Henry noted what I also took to be a Liar Liar reference. It's my most frequently watched Jim Carrey movie as my family's house had the VHS. At some point in life I grew cold and stopped enjoying any film's blooper reels, but I have great memories of my sister and I as kids rewinding the end credits to watch Liar Liar bloopers

I know Henry is not much of a beer person, but Seattle is home to an excellent, nearly all cask ale brewery called Machine House. Spectacular stuff if you're into that sort of thing.

My biggest laugh in the episode was Moe taking the sledgehammer to the load-bearing pole in the bar and causing the whole building to collapse.

it’s been a while (and perhaps it’s time for a Talking Critic re-listen), but i think i remember Eleanor making a “no more wire hangers” reference

Canterbury Tales rules. Has there been a modern adaptation of the entire thing?
