October is here with tricks and treats for our lovely subscribers to the Talking Simpsons Network! Not only do we have an October What A Cartoon! schedule full of Halloween classics, but we also have scary movie plans too! That's right, this month's What A Cartoon Movie! poll is themed for Halloweenies!!

As we've done for the past year, this October will feature a brand new movie podcast released exclusively for our $10+ Patreon subscribers, and you vote on what it'll be! Plus our $5 patrons get to vote too because we want you to have a voice in the picks just in case you later upgrade to listen to our great backlog. To fit for the month of scary movies and horror themes, we've got four fantastic picks that comprise a wide variety of animated films.

And so, the four picks for our October film podcast are:

Pixar's Monsters, Inc., the 2001 CGI hit that envisioned fright as fossil fuels in the hands of Sully and Mike

The Nightmare Before Christmas, Henry Selick's 1993 directorial debut adapting Tim Burton's vision of Halloween overtaking the spirit of X-Mas

1985's Vampire Hunter D, an incredibly influential anime series that imagines a daywalker fighting his way through a post-apocalyptic hellscape

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, the 2005 feature-length adventure of everyone's favorite British clay as they battle a full mooned possession

So please, cast your vote soon and help us decide on which of these will be made available to our $10 folks before the end of October. You have until the end of October 7 (Pacific Time) to vote! Thanks again so much for your support!!!

Nightmare before Xmas is the obvious pick...went with Vampire Hunter D for nostalgia....I vividly remember I was a member of some video by mail Anime club...I think my mom had signed me up, lol. Vampire Hunter D was one of the ones they sent

Cody C.

This one’s gonna be a bloodbath

Tyler The Destroyer

Can’t be two Anime movies in a row and NBC is just too incredible to pass up!

Davey K.

Really hoping the 2000 other patrons can pull through.

Curtis Bostick

I went with Monsters Inc, simply because we haven't had a Pixar movie yet. Plus, Nightmare Before Christmas also works in December, so it wouldn't be long to wait to vote for it again if need be.

TomP

Voted Monsters Inc because we haven’t had a Pixar movie yet and don’t see a chance for one later. Nightmare Before Christmas is a Christmas choice for me if you go holiday themed for December

Scott Lowe

Bleh, and here I thought all the affinity for NBC was Hot Topic-based nostalgia. Looks like I'll be skipping this episode.

John Simon

I don't think there was much of ANYTHING that looked like NBC when it came out in 1993

Devin Hoffarth

Make sure to not mention Tim Burton once in NBC

Dangmo

Gotta be Nightmare. It may be obvious, but it’s legendary for a reason.

John-Charles Holmes

Though there's bound to be way more discussion for Nightmare, I would love to see the duo tackle that Were-Rabbit movie at some point-- of their half a dozen features, its easily Aarman's best and the only W&G film to match the spirit and energy of Wrong Trousers and Close Shave. Maybe like Spongebob, the third time will have to be the charm for this one

NervousWrex

I really appreciate that with Cowboy Bebop we're technically getting two Halloween movies back to back. Thanks guys!

Dylan (batmanboy11) Freitag

Ironically, I watch Nightmare Before Christmas more around Christmas than Halloween, but I am SO DOWN for it to be the movie this month

Rei Hernandez

Never cared for Monsters Inc. NBC is up there with The Great Pumpkin as far Halloween cartoons. And I don't think WAC has ever done a stop motion cartoon before, so hopefully there's lots to discuss there!

I will keep voting for Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-rabbit every time it comes up until it wins. When they're ready, the people will agree with me.

Matt

Please do The Little Mermaid next month for its 30th anniversary.
