Part of me is super-glad you guys are finally doing Pixar... and also a LITTLE miffed because, for the first time ever, I’ve been planning an animation podcast of my own that covers Pixar movies in a similar in-depth style to you guys. But I’m not mad or anything. Instead, I won’t listen to the WAC Pixar episode until after I’ve already covered the film, so I don’t accidentally end up copying your research or opinions. I know an anecdote myself about older generations “not getting anime”, though this one isn’t personal and will take a bit of explaining: In Europe, there’s a very popular comic series called Asterix that was written by René Goscinny and drawn by Albert Uderzo for many years. After Rene died in the mid-70s, Uderzo took over both drawing and writing. But by the 2000s, Manga was growing in popularity over Europe and Uderzo was a little annoyed at this, as it was crowding out home-gown books like Asterix. He picked up a translated manga to see what all the fuss was about... which happened to be pornographic hentai. Horrified at what he saw, Albert wrote and drew an Asterix book called “Asterix and the Falling Sky” to basically complain about this change in comic form. It features the unsubtly named “Nagma” as a villain who, get this, has black hair, yellow skin and slanted eyes. (Please don’t let this turn you off on Asterix, it’s a great series when it isn’t doing stuff like that. Falling Sky was despised by the fans because it went so far away from the series’ intentions) The bits that stuck out to me from A Boy Named Charlie Brown was both the psychedelic "learning to spell" song with the old (and incorrect) "I before E except after C" rule said over and over again and Charlie losing at the end.

Two things...First, my name is pronounced JARED!!!!! Just kidding guys, you’ve read a comments a bunch and usually say it correctly. Second, A Boy Named Charlie Brown is free on Hulu right now. So it’s very easily accessible.

Feel free to laugh at Stankey or any other AT&T executive. They’re all pretty bad. I was a RF Engineer at the big blue Death Star for almost a decade and Stankey and Stephenson (Uncle Randy) were often openly mocked and cursed in the offices.

I just want to add that I wasn't congratulating Disney and the like for figuring out a way to skirt payroll and benefits with the approach to travel agency they've undertaken. I think it's pretty shitty a company like Disney doesn't just provide that service via a paid position considering how much money it charges for a stay at even its cheapest resorts. It's cool my wife can benefit to a point, but if we ever looked at how many hours she puts into that job versus what she's actually compensated for it's probably below minimum wage. She likes it, so cool, but it's not something I'd recommend to anyone. The added shitty piece to it too is that the agency hosts an annual business retreat on Disney property over the course of a few days. It's not paid for, so my wife would have to pay out of her pocket to go. I don't want to sound like the "controlling husband," but I had to put my foot down and insist she did not go as it would probably cost her more than she made even doing the job. And if you feel bad for my wife on missing out on a short Disney jaunt, it would have been the third for her in the past year so she's doing okay.

Apparently Verizon is giving away a year of Disney Plus with its Unlimited Plan.

According to Al Jean in an interview about the Disney Plus move, the commentaries will be on Disney Plus as they are still recording them as of this year for I believe season 24

I've played through siren and ape escape Ape escape has a particular memory for me, both our duel shock controls where broken, one the x button didn't work and the other the stick had issues. You bet I beat that game swapping controllers to suit my needs

I like Henry's response to our grumpy comments on the Family Guy pilot, looking back I wish I had added something more positive with my comment. I totally agree that American Dad became the better show.

Thanks for the shoutout and plug, and no need to apologize for anything... I'd be creeped out if you knew as much about classic cartoons (funnily enough, a middle school kid who interviewed me for a class project on Disney said something to the effect of, "For someone who says they're not a fan of Disney animation, you sure know a LOT about it"), or if you *did* have free time with all the hard work you do. Keep the good stuff coming!

Getting a bit of a preview of Talking Simpsons 2028 in the first ten minutes

Dylan (batmanboy11) Freitag

Another great month of Talking Simpsons! I think you guys were fair and gave credit where credit's due on the Family Guy episode, because that pilot is ROUGH, even as someone who enjoys it more than you do. Talking about its many issues is fair given that Simpsons' first season is full of baaad bits, which I'm fully capable of admitting even though I love Simpsons so much more than I ever liked Family Guy.
