Death to smoochy is an amazing film and haters don’t respect the direction of Danny Devito

The joke about Elon Musk's torso collecting gas 😂

Loved this episode but I just wanted to clear something up about The Safety Dance! The original 1982 Canadian version of the song (and what I assume the video was made with in mind) did not include the part Fry sings. That part only came when the album was reissued in 1983 in the US after the song became a huge hit due to the video being played on MTV. It is listed on the US version (and all other reissues since) as the “Extended Dance Version.” The whole first sparely arranged rap-like verse was added for this version along with that infectious synth line.

I can do one better than learning about stocks from futurama, my “teacher” was from a similar point in time tho. I learned everything there is to know about stocks, markets, trading, and how to manipulate them from the thousands of hours I spent playing RuneScape as a child. When the grand exchange was added, it was mind blowing to little me. Suddenly I began to understood how some people in the game were so rich: they already had lots of money. Honestly it may have inadvertently been radicalizing. There was a very finite amount of time that I could put in the game, competing with all manner of super extraction (that’s an in game problem to this day) so I could never Amass enough starting gold on a free account. However, replaying it on a member account some years ago, I managed to carve out enough gold to start serving hoping, buying out vendors of 5 gold runes, and then selling them on the exchange for 6 gold. Sounds trivial but when you have scale you can get easily net a million in profit each run. It’s not too different from the way wealth accumulates right now in our real systems. I was never the richest guy in game, but I certainly never wanted for gold either. And that’s a basic manipulation every runs. These days there’s whole forums and groups dedicated to pump and dumps and all manner of scams. If people do that for fake money, imagine how easy and attractive it is for people to rip off real markets for real money. A lot of it is perfectly legal too… when your rich anyways

You need to know what to do with your feet when doing the Mario? It's right there in the song! Take one step And then again

Regarding The Professor knowing that Hattie's apartment smells like polygrip and cat pee, they were implied to have hooked up on The Titanic in "A Flight to Remember", (she likes a man who's flexible) so it's conceivable they kept the relationship going a little while after they got back, at least until The Professor visited her and smelled her gross apartment.

As a musician and regular concert goer, the Great White venue fire makes me sick to my stomach. Regulations tightened after the tragedy but it's still so terrifying to know how quickly things can go bad in a crowded event like that, and that the only reason a lot of safety regulations are in place is because so many people paid with their lives.

As a first generation South Asian-American I feel it is my duty to defend Taco Bell against any and all criticism. In the 70s and 80s when our parents were emigrating to America there were next to no vegetarian options in the vast majority of restaurants and fast food. By contrast, Taco Bell always allowed you to substitute beans for beef in all their menu options, meaning a wide variety of Hindu and Jain friendly items for relatively cheap. For this reason, and several others, Taco Bell is incredibly important in South Asian-American culture. In conclusion, not enjoying Taco Bell is quite literally a hate crime. Joking aside, the Choco Taco is absolute garbage and can burn in hell. Men Without Hats albums actually completely rip, you're absolutely right to check em out. Pop Goes the World a great album, especially the track Walk on Water. Huge shock to me as a baby punk when I learned all my cool friends loved the one-hit-wonder ren-faire-video band

I view Taco Bell like I view most fast food: it's an experience by itself. If I want a good cheeseburger, I'm not going to McDonald's. However, there are times (usually when I don't feel well, which is definitely counterproductive) that I want McDonald's because a McDonald's cheeseburger doesn't really taste like any other burger. It's just it's own thing (and mostly tastes like salt and onions). Taco Bell is basically the same. Mexican and Tex-Mex is so much better everywhere than when I was a kid that I can get great Mexican up here in Massachusetts without issue, but there are times when a big box of tacos from Taco Bell sounds really good. Usually at 11 PM driving back from a concert, so for that reason, I'm glad it exists even if those moments happen once a year. As for the episode of Futurama, what can be said that hasn't already? Classic episode with a ton of meme-able moments and terrific quotes. I half-expected to hear That Guy from Twitter on this one since he's prolific in the Simpsons/Futurama Twitter community.

Yep, Beavis & Butthead watched the Safety Dance video. Always loved that song.

Wild to hear That Guy's Safety Dance "singing" was actually in the song. I always assumed the joke was that he just didn't actually really remember the song to show he was just a rich phony.

What patreon tier gets me Talking Simpsons stock?

Tyler

I thought Fry's line about making his own hair gel was a There's Something About Mary joke.

FWIW, I watched some Mullets for the first time last year and deem it Not Bad™. Bring on the future Bob and Henry retrospective!

Gavi Raab

Bob is right that the banner is Hebrew and it translates to "Today you are a robot", however היום is incorrectly spelled as היומ

Chris sold his Talking Simpsons stock for a sandwich. Also I think Henry jinxed the queen.

Having worked in government, I am totally aware of the FAX being a mandatory function. Fortunately, I believe you actually *can* use/send to a specific email address and it'll convert to a fax. So productive.

So no one is going to bring up that Henry mispoke and said that Goku got his heart disease during his fight with Cell in Dragon Ball Z when it was actually Andriod 19
