We've reached the end of the Talking Simpsons Network's second "Summer of the Disney Renaissance" and we're so far ahead we're already looking towards October with our feature film podcast series. And, as always, that's all in addition to Talking Simpsons, Talking Futurama, TalKing of the Hill, and What A Cartoon coming out alongside our once-a-month $10 premium podcast.

Currently, we're so far ahead in podcast recordings that we've already recorded September's What A Cartoon Movie! (Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe), meaning that now we have time open on our schedule to record our October 2022 movie podcast, and we can start on that as soon as you choose the subject for us!

For those of you who are new to the Talking Simpsons Patreon, WELCOME. Also, you should know that once a month we release the What A Cartoon Movie! podcast, an extra-long discussion about an animated feature film, exclusively for our $10+ Patreon subscribers. And when we open up the voting for each month's subject, we want all the $5 subscribers to also have a chance to be heard, so those subscribers can help pick episodes they might enjoy down the line!

Our next 2022 poll covers is another of our "Yes/No" polling because this is a childhood favorite of Henry's that is long overdue for a podcast. We already touched on this with Beast Wars, but now it's time for us to Dare To Be Stupid with Transformers: The Movie (1986)! Yes, with your votes, one shall stand and one shall fall... hopefully these references aren't lost on you listeners.

We expect you are just as excited for us to cover classic Transformers and the amazing animation on this film, but we still want it to be the choice of our patrons. And so, as we've done in the past with these types of movie podcasts, we're leaving this up to you all as a yes or no option in our monthly poll. If you want us to cover Do The Universe, vote "YES." And if you would prefer a different poll for the October 2022 movie podcast, then vote "NO" and we'll do a different poll with four choices after that.

So please, make your choice known before the poll closes on the night of September 7! Thanks as always for your continued support of our many awesome podcasts, and we hope you enjoy whatever wins!

An easy yes. I never got to see it in theaters as a kid, so when they had an anniversary showing a few years ago, it was awesome to experience it in the theaters.

This is a no-brainer for me. The 80’s Transformers Movie is a huge guilty pleasure of mine. The animation is drop dead gorgeous and it’s got a lot of stellar moments. Bob is probably not going to like it, but I’m sure it’ll be a fun time regardless!

Miyo Mii

I just watched it again this weekend soooo hard Yes

Joe Hodgson

This is basically a nostalgia test. Did you watch Transformers The Movie as a kid and were traumatized by the death of Optimus Prime? If the answer is "Yes," then you will likely vote yes. If you weren't a Transformers kid and either never saw this, or worse, watched it as an adult then your vote will likely be "No." I never fell into the Transformers hype and never sought this movie out until its 25th anniversary release so I'm a pretty hard "No." It's an overstuffed toy commercial that is way too long and pretty boring. At least the animation is nice.

NervousWrex

Everyone who votes no prefers the 2007 Michael Bay version

Honestly I just looked at the answers, had no clue what "yes" even meant, and simply voted "no". Decided to go back and read for context, then changed my vote. You might want to consider how lazy people might vote when writing poll options.

I haven't even seen this film yet, but Transformers coverage on WAC has been a long time coming and I'm all for this.

Chris Whyno

I may just be boring, but there has never been a cartoon I’ve disliked more than B&BH. I’m only in my mid thirties but especially looking back, stupid for the sake of stupid was never enjoyable to me. Either way, I’m sure y’all will do great work.

*Character says shit in a movie my babysitter took me to* Me: This is the best and coolest movie I have ever seen

Let's buuuurrrrnnn rubber!

I went with my friend on opening day in 1986. Sat next to a guy that had seen it earlier in the day. I got him to tell me a lot of who was and wasn't in the movie. Thus, my life of seeking spoilers began.

Ric Mahurin

I’m so pumped for this - been looking forward to it since day one - I’m upgrading my tier and gonna enjoy some Disney Rennesance stuff before TFTM.

Jason J

I’ve loved this movie since I was about 7 or 8. Which is way too young to watch this robot murder fest.

Ryan Hynes

Literally all I could ever want from yall

To Boldly Joe... Moore

Line missing from movie: "I'm sorry... You'll have to get a new one."

Alex Irish

This movie must be voted YES on…no matter the cost~

SomeBloke

I have basically no knowledge of this film outside of H. Bomberguy’s April fools’ video but Dare to Be Stupid is easily my favorite Weird Al song, so, sure, I’ll put all my eggs in one basket, count my chickens before they hatch, sell some wine before its time…

Ric Mahurin

I’m fully expecting Bob to dislike this movie

Devin Hoffarth

I mentioned this on call I think but the best way to enjoy this film is less of a uh... movie... with a plot and characters and more of an experimental music video thing like Interstellar 999. Just watch the good animation and the awesome soundtrack! Maybe don't think too hard about the plot. (I voted yes btw)

Richard Green

You really take the fun out of this. No matter what you put up for yes/no, yes will always win, so you're basically just choosing for us every month instead of letting us duke it out between 4 films.

Bob Mackey

I bet Bob will hate this
