Mortal Needs 2.1.0 is out! (Patreon)
Content
Hey folks! Just pushed a update to Mortal Needs. Been working on the UI and UX for a while now, and I finally feels the way I wanted it to from the start.
What's new
Here are the things you'll notice right away:
A proper GM Dashboard. The main panel now has a command rail with a Crisis Queue that shows your 5 most urgent needs at a glance, plus live stats for tracked actors, average severity, next decay tick, and last change. It turns the panel into an actual control center instead of just a list of bars.
Batch stress and relief got a lot better. You can now apply stress or relief to multiple needs per actor in a single action, with a live preview panel that tells you exactly what's about to happen before you commit.
The History dialog got a full redesign with filtering by character and need, full text search, relative timestamps, activity summary, and an export button. Much easier to look back at what happened three sessions ago.
The Config dialog is searchable now, with a live preview of the selected need and a nicer preset library view. Setting up your own custom list of needs feels less like filling out a spreadsheet.
Actor Selection got overhauled with tabs for regular Foundry actors and Exalted Scenes actors, plus search and selection count.
There's also a ton of polish across buttons, spacing, dialog layouts, and the severity indicators on the need cards themselves. Full changelog is on GitHub if you're curious about the details.
How to install or update
If you already have Mortal Needs installed, just open the Foundry setup screen, go to Add-on Modules, find Mortal Needs, and hit the Update button. Foundry grabs the new version automatically.
If you're installing fresh, go to Add-on Modules in the setup screen, click Install Module, and either search for "Mortal Needs" in the package browser or paste this manifest URL:
https://github.com/wand-and-widgets/mortal-needs/releases/latest/download/module.json
That's it. No migration needed if you're coming from 2.0.x, all your existing data carries over.
Let me know what you think, especially about the new Dashboard layout. If you run into any bugs please drop an issue on Discord! Thanks as always for the support, it's what keeps this module alive and growing.
