Exalted Scenes 7.0 is now official on Foundry VTT (Patreon)
Content
After Narrator’s Jukebox opened the door, Exalted Scenes officially became the second Wand & Widgets module to join Foundry VTT’s premium content program.
And honestly… this is probably the biggest release this module has ever had.
It’s live right now on the official Foundry catalog.
That means no more zip hunting, no more dragging folders into modules/, no more checking Patreon wondering if a new version dropped already. Just open Foundry, click install, and you’re ready to go.
If you’ve been here since the early 3.x, 4.x, 5.x or 6.x days… thank you, genuinely. Every version, every bug report, every suggestion and every bit of support helped shape this release into what it is now.
This one belongs to all of us.
Works on Foundry v13 AND v14
Exalted Scenes 7.0 launches fully compatible with both Foundry v13 and v14.
If you already migrated your worlds to v14, you’re good to go. No waiting for a separate compatibility patch, no weird workarounds, no duplicate module versions.
Same install. Same module. Both versions supported.
What changes for you?
A few practical things first:
One-click installation directly inside Foundry
Automatic update notifications
Patreon integration handled directly through your Foundry account
Available for:
W&W Adventurer
W&W Arcane Circle
What’s new in 7.0?
This was easily the biggest development pass Exalted Scenes has ever received. Pretty much every workflow in the module got revisited and improved in some way.
Some of the big highlights:
GM Live Dock for fast scene control during live play
Native Foundry sidebar integration
Hero Mode got the Hero Looks, for you to have characters with multiple outfit options in your visual novel style character presentation
Much smoother cinematic playback and emotion transitions
Completely refreshed scene and library workflow
Deeper Narrator’s Jukebox integration
Major performance improvements across the board
There’s also:
24 art-directed themes
configurable keyboard shortcuts
a public API for macros/integrations
localization support for 7 languages
A few favorite additions personally
GM Live Dock
This became one of my favorite features during development.
You can control scenes, switch casts, advance sequences and manage the flow of the session without constantly jumping back into editors and menus.
It feels much closer to actually “running the scene” instead of managing UI.
Hero Mode + Hero Looks
This system grew way bigger than I originally planned.
You can now organize different outfits, armor sets, visual evolutions, transformations, expressions, etc.
Combined with Theater Mode, it honestly starts feeling dangerously close to a proper visual novel inside Foundry.
Performance and polish
A massive amount of work also went into stability, cleanup and overall smoothness.
Things like:
render optimization
socket throttling
smoother large libraries
video cleanup handling
sync improvements
migration cleanup for older worlds
And honestly… dozens and dozens of small fixes accumulated over months of feedback.
A lot of the improvements in 7.0 are the kind of things players won’t consciously notice, but they make the whole experience feel dramatically smoother during actual sessions.

Thank you, seriously.
Watching this weird little passion project evolve into something official on Foundry has been surreal, and none of it would’ve happened without this community.
Crafted with love, from one storyteller to another.
