“Listen to me carefully Tomas, you must make one of two choices here. There is no third choice where you can walk away from this. You have abilities too, and I know you want answers about them. I also know you want to know how to control them properly and I can give you that much, at least,” he stated.

“But the choices before you are as follows; either learn all you can and prepare yourself for the battle is to come or become a caretaker of all the knowledge that Sonja and I spent a lifetime assembling, keeping it safe for the one who will take up that mantle.”

“Whatever your choice is, I hope you pick one of those options I have laid out for you. I know that I’m not there to kick your ass, but please, at least take the time to think about what is at stake before you make your decision. If you become a caretaker, stop this video here and open the file labeled ‘Librarian’. If you decide to take up the fight yourself, continue to listen to this video. Stop it here if you need time to decide.”

With that sentence, Tomas stopped the vid and took several deep breaths. This was a lot to take in! That his ability was part of being psychic? That there were more abilities and powers to unlock?! On top of that, there was some sort of fight that would happen in the future, that would determine the fate of humanity?!? Tomas shook his head in disbelief! He’d gone and stepped into some kind of video game; with the way his grandfather had presented things as they were!

Reeling from the implications, Tomas stood up and paced about, trying to make sense of this situation! He couldn’t believe this! That there was so much about the world he didn’t know he could accept. But that there were real psychic powers? He took a few more calming breaths before he finally got his breathing under control. All of this was a lot to process, and he needed time to wrap his head around all of this!

The ding dong sound of the doorbell ringing shocked Tomas out of his thoughts, startling him for a moment. He heard the sound again and figured that someone was at the door, wanting to see him. Figuring that it was Olivia coming to see him after her shift, Tomas scrambled and quickly shut everything off. He carefully removed the encryption key and walked out of the lab.

After walking out of the concealed space, Tomas used his strength to shift the bookshelf back to its original position. He heard a loud click from both the shelf and the small spot where the keyhole was located. Tomas walked on back and saw that the key had turned back to its starting point. Pulling the key, he then took the novel of Anna Karenina and replaced it, concealing the keyhole once more. He walked up the basement stairs when he heard the doorbell go off again.

“Just a moment!” Tomas called out before he closed the basement door and made for the front door.
