May Update! (Patreon)

Good evening everyone! I hope you are all doing well during these times and that everyone is heading out to get their vaccines! I know I will, the second I get a chance for it! Some interesting things are coming up in this month and some unfortunate news as well. So, without any more beating around the bush, let's get into it.

As everyone knows, the pushback of my work has given me some much needed breathing room. Truthfully, I honestly needed it, as I was running myself ragged, trying to be a husband, father and writer all at the same time. Hell, there are days I look back at everything I've written and accomplished and I ask myself, 'How the fuck did I do all of that?' So, to everyone who has had my back for that, thank you!

Concerning the unfortunate news, the artist I had commissioned for some artwork has more or less forgotten about me. I haven't received any communication from said artist over the course of the last three weeks! Needless to say, I'm more than a little discouraged by this, as I was excited to have someone who does art for a decent price draw my characters! While it is a huge letdown, I'm not going to let this stop me. Back to the search it looks like.

Another thing that will be happening soon is a piece of news that I'm certain people will be torn over and some will not like. Concerning the work that I do and the amount of content I produce, I feel like charging 1$ per month for 3 ongoing stories is selling myself short. That being said, I will be increasing my price of the first 3 tiers of this page by 1$ per month, each. (Passenger-2$, Crew Member-4$, Soldier-6$)

I know some folks will be mad and some might even leave because of it, but I'm prepared to make that sacrifice. I work hard day in and day out, often driving myself to the brink of exhaustion to write something every day. I'm not just working at my job, but also at home, crafting these worlds for the enjoyment of everyone. I'm also trying to find the time to learn about art programs on how to make amazing art, while coming up with the time to write the stories you all enjoy. I'm not trying to come across as a greedy son of a bitch, I just feel like I'm shortchanging my work and talent.

Concerning when this change will be coming, it won't happen until June has arrived. I feel this will be plenty of time for everyone in the first 3 tiers to decide if they wish to stay or not. If this is too much for you to handle or you think I'm being unfair and want to leave, then that's your opinion and I won't fault you for it. I'm hoping that everyone stays, but I understand that some folks won't and I know that even as as writer, I can't please everybody.

For those who do leave, they don't fully understand all the effort that goes into crafting a good story, much less three! I could go into the details and the like about how a good story is crafted, but I'd be here all month trying to explain it, lol!! I do truly hope that everyone here understands why I'm doing this and sticks around, especially since with some of the stories, things are starting to get interesting! Regardless of what you choose, I'll still be here, writing my stories for me and those who wish to read them. Cheers!!
