December Update! (Patreon)

Good evening everyone! C. H,. Darkstrider here with the monthly update! There's a fair bit to unpack in this update, so without any further beating around the bush, let's get into it!

First off, I'm sure that many of you here may have noticed that I'm posting a written update alongside my spoken one! I decided to do so as I figured some folks are probably at work, or in a spot where silence is required when these updates drop. Thus I have decided to include the written version, along with the spoken one.  Some people might be thinking that I'm just adding to my workload here, but the truth is, I started writing out my updates, rather than just speaking off the cuff. So it's no big deal to post the written version of it too.

Next on the list is the audio I promised. I know, it was supposed to be out by now and I apologize for the delay. The good news is that the audio is finished! The only catch is that it is still in its raw, unedited form. While a part of me said to release it anyway, I didn't want to because I don't want to put out an audio that is subpar. Many of you here have applauded the fact that I deliver quality stories, without compromising the integrity of them. This has more or less driven me to ensure that when I release anything, it is something that I can be proud of, and not some steaming pile of horseshit. So, it will be a few more days before it released onto the page. I hope you can understand my position on this.

Third on the list of things to talk about is the final two chapters I have yet to release. Don't worry, they are in the same state as the audio, finished, but unpolished. I will be working on them, along with the audio over the next few days and I hope to have them out by Sunday at the latest. It's been a bit hectic, as this time of year, it seems like everyone and everything requires my attention. Those of you who have families and celebrate Christmas, you know what I'm talking about! Thankfully, I might be able to get ahead a bit this month, as I have a week off work and so far, the wife hasn't planned anything for it yet! Here's hoping that I get that extra time to get things done!

Final item in the list is my thoughts on doing my own artwork. I have thought long and hard about the idea and have decided to keep on with hiring artists instead of doing it myself. At least until I reach the point where I can stay at home all day and write full time. That appears to be the only way I will be able to write my stories and learn to art, without falling behind any further. I constantly have to remind myself that I'm not Superman, even though there are times that I wish it was so! I still haven't found an artist, despite searching for one and putting out the call for one. Not at the quality level I want for my stories anyway. Nothing for it but to keep on keeping on I suppose.
