Good evening and happy New Year everyone, C.H. Darkstrider here with the monthly update! With a new year, comes new things in the works, new changes coming to the stories and, of course, more story! So, without any further ado, let’s get into!

First off, I wanted to let everyone know that I am aware that the chapters for Gaia’s Champion, Tales of the Wastelander and Wings of Fire have yet to drop. Things have gotten a little hectic over the holiday season, with so many things going on with family, that I didn’t have as much time to write as I thought I’d have.

That, and I bit off more than I could chew with the projects I wanted to do, which I’ll get into in a minute. Just know that I’m wrapping up the final scene of Gaia’s Champion, along with the last bits of Tales of the Wastelander. Gaia’s Champion should drop tomorrow, and Wastelander will arrive later on in the week. Wings of Fire, I am hoping to have done by Friday, so don’t fret, the chapter releases are imminent.

The bit where I was talking about doing too much with my projects concerns the narration of my stories. I know many of you were looking forward to these, and I was having a lot of fun creating them. Unfortunately, I have decided to put this side project on hold, as I felt the quality of them was lacking.

When I’m talking about quality, I’m not talking about my voice not being up to snuff. I’m speaking of the feminine voiceovers I had tried to do for these narrated stories. The problem I found with it was that to my ears, the voiceovers still sounded too masculine. Hell, I even went and dropped some coin for Voicemod, one of the premier voice changer programs out there, and it wound up sounding both masculine and robotic.

So, at this time, I have decided to put the voicework I was doing on hold. At least until I can afford to hire a female NSFW VA, who has the same level of vocal range as I do. Finding such talent and hiring them will not be cheap and no, my wife will not be lending her voice to these stories. I asked a while ago and recently and she said no. No sense in pushing things when someone has their mind set.

I do have some good news however, and that is that I have finally found an artist who will take on doing artwork of my stories! Even better news is that they can do BIPOC characters with no issues and are offering higher quality work for the same price as my previous artist!! If anyone here would like to see some of their work, Google the name Shockabuki and check their Twitter feed! Lots of really good artwork there!

With so much going on in my life, it’s a wonder I even have time to crank out these stories at the pace I do! Everyday, I get closer to reaching that final goal of writing full time, but I’m not there yet. No matter how long it takes, or however many obstacles I have to face, I will get there. I am just extremely thankful that everyone here believes that my stories are worth reading! To all of you who continue to support me in this endeavor, I thank you!!

Well, that about wraps things up for this month’s update! I do hope that everyone is doing well, being safe, masking up when you go out, maintaining a safe distance from others, and getting that booster shot, which I have done! This pandemic is a real drag, but sooner or later, it will be over. Here’s hoping for sooner over later! Cheers everyone!

Congratulations on the new artist. When will the next portrait project start? Hopefully by the end of the year you will be able to write full time.
