February 2023 Update! (Patreon)

Good evening everyone, C.H. Darkstrider here with the latest update! I know this one has been overdue for a while, but things have been a bit hectic and more curveballs keep popping up in this crazy journey we call life! There’s lots to talk about in this update, so without any further ado, let’s get into it.

First item on the list is the rate at which I am cranking out stories. I did try for an ambitious run over the Christmas holidays, something in which I fell short of delivering what I had hoped to bring to everyone. It was this attempt that made me remember one critical part of writing multiple stories of vast and imaginative universes; writing these stories is a marathon, not a sprint.

While what I was trying to attempt was out of reach for me, it doesn’t mean that I didn’t learn anything from it. I did learn that it is possible for me to push out four, maybe even five story chapters per month, regardless of the circumstances. So, from now on, that will be my monthly goal, to reach at least four story chapters per month and, circumstances willing, possibly even five.

With that in mind, that means that there will be a guaranteed four story chapters, released every month. What does that mean for the story chapters going forward? Quite simply, the main three will be getting one chapter per month, while the fourth will be an additional chapter of the main three. For those who don’t know, the main three stories are Project Prometheus, Gaia’s Champion and Tales of the Wastelander.

So, I have no doubt that people are wondering what that will mean for which story gets the double chapter. For this month, it means that Gaia’s Champion is getting the double chapter, so, mic drop for the superfans of that story! After this month, I will be focusing on making the double chapter of the month to be Tales of the Wastelander. Now, some folks will be wondering why this is, and I will explain that in a moment.

For the longest time, I have tried to keep up with where I should be with the story chapters and have fallen behind to some degree. So, for the foreseeable future, double chapters of Tales of the Wastelander will be going up until I have caught up the story to where it should be. Also, it is the one story that I am the closest to catching up on, so starting there is the most logical thing to do.

Next item on the list is regarding the possible fifth chapter release per month. Now, which story it will be is going to be dependent on what I already have framed out and where I should be with each story. Since none of my other stories are part of the main three, I can go at a slower pace for them, making staying on top of them much easier.

While I would love to promise a delivery on a fifth story chapter each month, that is largely going to boil down to how much time I have left to work with. If there is time to write these stories, then I will and be more than happy to do it! If I can’t manage it, then that’s how the dice fall for the month. So long as I am working a full-time job outside of writing, that’s how things will have to be.

Another point I wish to bring up is the recent amount of concept art I have been posting over the past several weeks. For those who are not in the know about it, yes, I have been using AI generators to craft these images. I would hire an artist, if I could afford to, as artists can be ruinously expensive. But since most artists cost more than I make, are more focused on doing their own thing, or are not of the caliber I am looking for, this will have to do.

While it is not ideal, it does allow me to create some really neat and cool concepts for various characters and locales. I am still fiddling with various programs and I am trying to find ways to not only deliver concepts but also NSFW variants of what I have. Sadly, that is a bit of an uphill fight, considering that most AI generators have filters in place to prevent the generation of NSFW artwork. I am looking at finding ways around it, but I am trying not to lose too much time in it. Mainly because I don’t want to fall behind in my writing any further than I already am.

Finally, I have an announcement to make for something I have been debating about doing for quite some time! I have decided to re-release my stories, but in this case, they will be strictly SFW variants! This means that for those who want only the stories I write, minus the X-rated content, I will be crafting a page that will only have that in the near future!

I have been receiving a great many asks for the stories without the NSFW content attached to it. After taking some time to think it over, I have decided to do just that! Because of my already hefty writing schedule, it will take me some time to do the rewrite of each story chapter I have written. But, do expect a new page to go up with my stories SFW variants soon! For those who might be interested in such works, I will be crafting said page and stories under a new pen name; Z.L. Lightworker.
